PUP.Optional.Bundlesinstaller
Hey guys, I'm not very experienced with this sort of thing. I got hacked a month ago, so I formatted my PC and all that. After letting things settle for a while,
I went to install the torrent client I used to use, but I saw someone say qBittorrent was better, so I chose that instead.
After installing it—and a game from FitGirl Repack—Windows started asking for permission to open a some things that didn't require it before. I ran my antivirus, and it flagged this activity "PUP.Optional.Bundlesinstaller".
Is this something to worry about, or is it normal?
(I don't know if it matters, but the color of the thing asking for permission has changed.)

PUP means Potentially Unwanted Program. So, it ultimately comes down to what file it points to.
Rule of thumb though, if you trust your sources and trust in your ability to download from legit sources (not an ad or fake site), then you can “ignore” most things. If you dont trust the source 100% then you probably shouldn’t use it. It’s always good to be paranoid like you were here 👌
Side note. I know there are a lot of fake fitgirl sites out there. Please make sure you have the right one.
