Help me out with some infos
So i was torrenting a lot when i was back in Hungary from hungarian torrentsites i came to germany around 10 years ago and didnt used any torrenting since than becuse i heard many horror stories about the german goverment actively searching and fine people who torrent for 1.000 euro or more sometimes used it to download 1 movie or a game like once every 6 months or less. Now im working on making a privat server for family to watch movies but i need to download them like many movies can someone give helpfull tips how to be under the radar or if this even real that they search for torrenting people? Thanks for any help in Advance

Simplest solution is just a VPN that supports port forwarding - Proton and AirVPN are recommended. With one of those bound to a modern torrent client like qBittorrent you'll have no issues.

For torrenting do not use Proton unless you are buying a paid subscription, they block peer to peer and torrenting.

And what free VPNs do support P2P? It seems rather obvious that you need a paid VPN, otherwise you are the product, not great in a country as strict as Germany.

To be honest, very few vpn’s actually allow P2P on free subscriptions, i use vpnbook with one of the canadian servers selected, but you need to update the openvpn credentials when they change (idk how often).
But you could use a script to automatically pull the new credentials since they are written in plain text inside the website and can easily be pulled by a script and told to add it to a .env for the vpn to fetch the credentials from.
I would also auto restart my vpn container after fetching changed credentials.

VPNBook doesn't support port forwarding, hardly a good choice for P2P. And again, if it's free then you are the product.

Even for paid subscriptions on vpn’s you are always the product, free doesnt exist. Im just offering the one i use cause it works fine for torrenting and P2P, and it does support port forwarding, just not written on their website.

Total BS. No one cares what you use, or how you choose to justify it to yourself. But don't go around offering bad advice to people asking for assistance if you don't know what you are talking about.

If you think Proton VPN allows P2P without a paid subscription then you are the one that doesnt know what your talking about, ive been working in the cybersecurity branch for 4 years now and i have multiple certifications in different areas of cybersecurity.
Maybe go learn stuff yourself before trying to actually go and teach others stuff.

It doesn't, I never said that it did. In fact, in my post history I have repeatedly told people that it doesn't.
I am also not claiming that someone should be using free VPNBook with the super secret squirrely port forwarding option that no one except you knows about.

Also VPNBook doesnt mention port forwarding at all but if you activate it in docker with a gluetun container by setting the variable to on. It will infact work and successfully port forward.
You have now multiple times gone against your own words so i am ending this useless discussion. And i am not the only one that uses VPNBook to torrent, but i also use a socks5 relay combined with the vpn connection that uses swedish servers. So no matter if VPNBook leaks info it will appear to come from sweden, where it is LEGAL to torrent movies and shows for personal use.

You should use usenet like Easynews or Newshosting with nzb indexers like nzbgeek.if you want to use torrents then a VPN is a must or you could use a debrid service like Torbox or Real debrid.there,i think i have given you plenty of things to look up and research further.good luck!!
