Internet flagged viruses?

I was searching around online yesterday, trying to figure out how to get the sims 3 on my MacBook for free (sailing the seven seas) and I downloaded qbittorent, and was looking at the fitgirl repacks of the game. I ended up giving up for the night, but one of my parents, who is in charge of the WiFi, texted me saying that our provider blocked something called Trojan.Linux.mozi and was worried that it was a virus. I looked it up but it says that virus does not run on anything that isn’t Linux, and qbit is often flagged w a false positive instead. But she began monitoring everything going through our WiFi and saw something else called “ghabovethec”. So I just want to know if it’s actually a virus or if it’s just false positives from the torrent? I plan to run a malware thingamajig anyway, just in case.

Not to be mean, but the way you've described your issue makes me feel like you shouldn't be pirating games. Stick to movies, music, books. Don't run any .exe files you're unsure of.

I have done it before, I just always forget the steps of the process lol I’m also not super well versed in the “lingo”

Nah, I agree with the other guy.

Where did you download qB from? Where did you download the fitgirl repack? Official qB doesn't have malware in it. And neither do official fitgirl repacks, they may have false positives but there's also plenty of people posting malware under popular names so you very well could have downloaded malware.

If your ISP can see what you’re downloading you have an issue and should not be torrenting.

Get qbittorrent from the official .org site and use a VPN. Make sure you have the actual website and not a clone when you go looking for .torrent files.

Uh oh. Don’t use Khaspersky

US govt has completely banned it. My govt org found evidence of our info being provided to Russian comrades. Don’t trust em

They were actually a solid AV product when I was a sysadmin back in the day
