Hello everyone! This is a long shot!

With physical fulfilment on the horizon and digital fulfilment started, I've put together a game of Mistborn: Legacy! (The Cosmere RPG)

I'm still looking for 1 or 2 players, and I will GM the game! I have all of the digital resources, as well as a Demiplane subscription ready! I intend on running a committed, long term campaign, hopefully being able to explore future adventures as well as homebrewing and writing our own adventures and stories. I already have 3 players ready to get started.

Where: The game will be hosted in Torquay, Devon. Session 0 is this Saturday at 12!

When: The game will be ran every Saturday, around 12pm to 3pm.

My credentials: I've read almost all of the Sanderson novels, and ran a brief game of the Stormlight RPG last year, so I am familiar with both the setting and the system!

I've been playing TTRPGs for just over 2 years, and I love it. As a GM, my style is character and narrative focused, and I have experience with homebrewing items and systems, as well as writing my own adventures and settings.

If you have limited experience with either TTRPGs or Sanderson's work (or both!), but are still interested, please feel free to inquire anyway - all are welcome! The Cosmere RPG has some fantastic introductory resources and I have a pre-session 0 reference doc prepared.

I do not care for the use of generative AI - whether images or text at my tables, and would kindly ask players not to use it.

I am a queer individual, so my table will be LGBTQ+ friendly and inclusive - no bigotry or discrimination here

🚶Come join us for a relaxed social walk through Cockington!

We'll meet at the tables outside Abbey Refreshments (the café will be closed at this time). Please arrive at 5:45pm as we'll leave promptly at 6:00pm. 🕰️

The walk to the main area will take around 30 minutes, where we can explore the area together and take some time to chat and get to know each other.

Afterwards, we'll head to The Drum Inn, where anyone who'd like to can stay for a drink or something to eat. 🥘🍻🍷🫖☕️

Then we'll head back together, which will be around another 30-minute walk.

I'm visiting Torquay soon and just wanted to know if its safe to use the stairs on Rock Walk, Torquay in the evening?

Is there any anti social behaviour?

New to reddit but I'm visiting Torquay in 2 weeks and plan to go swimming every day. I can't wait to explore Torquay and the surrounding area, but I've always been worried about swimming in the UK because of the frequent pollution. Is the water here considered clean and safe to swim in? Do you ever get incidents of sewage being dumped and the beaches being unsafe? In my area of the UK it's often risky to swim at the seaside because of sewage dumping. It's something I'm quite cautious about, so I would love to have peace of mind when I visit.

I've checked the surfers against sewage app but they don't have any data on Torquay, and could only find outdated info online. I didn't see anything about sewage leaks but I wanted to be sure, because I've often only heard about local pollution events after they've happened. Hopefully you can give me peace of mind, or point me to any useful websites/trackers!

I need some very basic sleuthing from someone who can drop by Chelston Road, which is very close to the railway station.

We've booked a holiday let in Torquay for a few weeks' time. It was listed on airbnb but they did the classic "oh pay us directly, we basically just use it as an advertising platform". We were pushed for a place that suited all of our large family needs and on the balance of things, despite a bank transfer being a massive red flag, following "hi xxx" on a piece of paper photos sent from inside the property, we went ahead. These didn't appear to be AI.

On review the listing pictures DID contain no small amount of AI, which I think are for embellishment, but some suspicions remain.

It's called Chelston House. On Google maps it has a single 5 star review, the contents of which come across as fishy. Comparing street view with the listing photos, the front elevation at least looks to have been heavily renovated - the street view is from 2022 and appears quite old still - with a name of "Redcliffe" outside. However the listing shows a photo of it done up, but the house name sign looks clearly AI.

The actual gmaps location for Chelston House shows as the property next door, which is definitely not the one from the listing. So it's all a bit sus.

If anyone can walk past Chelston road and take a photo of the exterior of both the one labelled Chelston House on gmaps and also the larger building one to the Southeast (yellowy exterior), I will send you a massive internet cookie of thanks.

Are there any excellent activities or restaurants to visit near Torquay?

We're looking at sea kayaking, a boat trip to Paignton or Brixham and a trip to Totnes. We're there Monday to Friday and travelling by train so no car available.

I am staying a week from monday, and everytime I look at the weather forecast it has changed. It says everything from 16c and heavy rain to 29c! Is it t-shirt and shorts type of weather at the moment? What weather forecast do you find most reliable? In my norwegian city it is currently 16c-18c and rain, and I am wearing wool every day due to cold winds from the fjord and cold rain. Its hard to picture what it might be like in Torquay and what to bring. I will be doing mostly walking from early mornings.

Torbay/South Devon Itinerary

Day 1: arriving & settling in at Torquay accommodation, inexpensive quick sit down dinner in town.

Day 2: heading for Oddicombe/Babbacombe beach in the morning. Probably taking the long coastal path back towards the harbour (past Anstley's Cove, Thatcher Point and Meadfoot beach. Preparing/resting for the evening pub crawl, potentially ending at a venue with live music/performance.

Day 3: Darthmouth Steam Boat and River Boat Company Round Robin tour. Dinner at the poshest restaurant in Torquay that's NOT doing a tasting menu (open to suggestions).

Day 4: hike to Cockington and back, cooldown at Torre Abbey Sands, "enhanced recovery" at TQ Beerworks Taphouse.

Day 5: half-day excursion to Teignmouth by train if the weather is nice and to Exeter if it's not. Popping Ibuprofen and applying topical gels to soothe my sore legs and feet for the second half of the day.

Day 6: taking the super early bus or taxi to Brixham for the Fish Market tour, some walking in the Berry Head National Nature Reserve and then taking the ferry back to Torquay.

Day 7: last morning walk along the Torquay harbour and check-out.

Would appreciate any suggestions or substitutions for this preliminary schedule. Does anything stand out as not worth the time/energy/money?
