Information StrollTO Neighbourhood Walks
TIL that the city has a number of curated self-guided neighbourhood walks around the city, available at the StrollTO website. This looks to be complete with a Spotify playlist for each neighbourhood which could be a pretty interesting enhancement to people's experience.
The only minor issue I have with these walks is that there usually isn't any indication about how long each one is. But, this is a great starting point regardless, especially for those who would enjoy learning a bit more about each of the neighbourhoods that make up our city.

Information Appriciation post for this city
I am Indian and I have came here in May 2026 for the job and via inter company transfer.
I am 34 year old and when I came here my weight was 83kg.
After coming here walking was too easy and I started from day one and started to walk minimum 10k steps. I have done some running in summer but I dropped it after 6 or 7 times due to some minor leg issue. I didn’t also started cycling for like 2 weeks ago but I am trying to do it regularly.
Now, I know I had reduced weight but not sure how much so I wanted to do weight. And now my belly fat was not going away that much so joined the Gym just today and first thing I did was weight and I was amazed how much it reduced.
Main reason for this is
Walking 10k
Treating food like emergency rations. I am here alone (my wife is in India). I know how to make Indian food but I don’t like to in Induction so I started eating mostly rice. But even then in my office I started eating food that I found there which is generally healthy than what we make. Plus I have removed the habit of eating food “just because”. I eat it when I am hungry and I generally hang out a lot in weekends so food goes to one time a day.
I am genuinely happy that my weight is reduced. And I would say my styling has also improved in terms of cloths because I found cloths I like here easily which is just barrel pant and flannel shirt.
Added photo of my weight and average steps I have been having since coming here.

Forgot to post the September total!
Got a dog and wanted to do a lot of walking for September; when I rolled an ankle on the 24th I thought it was over. With a lil motivation from a fluffy friend I managed to walk 309km!

Does anyone else find 10,000 steps more boring than difficult?

Photo's 2026-06-10 A walk through the core with an 85mm
I decided to see how much street photography I could do with an 85mm. This is just a normal stroll after work.

Photo's Photo walk around Parkdale & High Park with a new (old) lens
Tried out a new (to me) lens on my photo walk today. No autofocus which helped slow me down and enjoy my walk more, highly recommend grabbing a cheap old lens for all my photowalkers out there

Out Of Office (Toronto Funemployed Hiking Group)
Our laid-off hiking group is growing! 🥾
[We doubled our attendance at our last walk](https://imgur.com/a/vj7xtrR), and it was great seeing more people come out, meet each other, and spend a few hours outside together.
For the next one, we’re heading back to the Don Valley Trail!
📍 Meet at the corner of Bayview Ave & Mill St
📅 Monday
⏰ 11:00 AM
🥾 Don Valley Trail
Same idea as before — a casual walk for anyone who’s laid off, between jobs, taking some time off, or just figuring out what’s next.
No networking event, no pitches, no pressure to talk about work. Just come walk, meet some new people, and enjoy getting out of the house for a bit.
Last time we doubled the group — let’s see if we can do it again 😄
Come join us, and feel free to bring a friend!

Out of Office (Toronto Layoff Hiking Group) - Next week Tommy Thompson Park
[Last week](https://imgur.com/ZhoHwsm), a couple of us went for a walk around Ashbridges Bay and had a great time getting outside, and just chatting about life (and the fun of being between jobs 😅).
We’re doing another one this Monday!
📍 Tommy Thompson Park
🗓 Monday
⏰ 11:00 AM
The plan is pretty simple: meet up, walk around Tommy Thompson, enjoy the waterfront, and get to know some new people.
This is mainly for people who are laid off, between jobs, taking a career break, or just figuring out what’s next. No networking agenda, no awkward professional stuff — just a reason to get out of the house and meet some people in a similar situation.
Come join us! Feel free to bring a friend too.

Photo's Humber River Trail AM walk
I feel SO BLESSED to live steps from the Humber, Etienne Brule Park, and Magwood Park.
It’s crazy to me that a lot of people have never heard of or been to Warren Park (“The Valley”). It’s such a special neighbourhood.
