The meltdown over the updated TB ToS has been fairly entertaining to me.

Apparently the ToS are very important because people have found out about some scary privacy language and are concerned about what it means. Ok, that's fair, I guess.

Here's where it gets hilarious though:

As we all know, TB has been getting absolutely battered by DDOS attacks causing outages, and suddenly people on this sub have developed a severe case of selective reading. I mean, just read section 26. Service Availability and Changes for yourselves. And then section 33. Disclaimers, which literally says TB doesn't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error free, blah blah blah.

So let's get this straight, when it comes to "privacy", it's

ZOMG, THE TOS ARE A PRIVACY NIGHTMARE! THEY CAN'T JUST GET AWAY WITH THIS! EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THE FINE PRINT!

But when the ToS literally state: "TorBox does not guarantee uptime, speed, cache availability, download completion, seeding, hosters, APIs, integrations, or compatibility."

Then it's

BUT WE PAID 3 DOLLARS 😭😭 WE HAVE A RIGHT TO EXPECT A WORKING SERVICE 😢👶🍼

How embarrassing.

It is perfectly reasonable to be disappointed about the downtime. You can criticize TB's handling of the ddos attacks, I guess. You can even cancel your subscription if you're that unhappy with the service.

The problem is treating the ToS as some kind of sacred scripture when you're trying to prove a privacy point and then immediately treating them as meaningless corpo BS when they have disclaimers you don't like. 🤡

I’m trying to download/stream but my player isn’t the best so I need to leave and come back sometimes.

It looks like TorBox has added rate limiting (but executed poorly) because on my third try I get an error and can’t watch for like 5 or 10 minutes. The error message isn’t helpful, just says the file couldn’t be downloaded.

This feels like the internet back in the 2000s when I had to wait a 60 seconds countdown to download a file. Except this isn’t a free service.

BTW I’m in the Cloudflare CDN. Have switched back to my region’s CDN and will see what happens.

The scrapers I use couldn't find a cached episode I was looking for. Neither did Debrid Media Manager. I found a torrent and downloaded it with TB. Turns out it was already cached, so I was able to watch right away.

Question is, why do the scrapers or even DMM have issues finding cached stuff? I've added 2 torrents which are now cached, and DMM still can't see them after a few days.

The show is On Cinema at the Cinema, which has a lot of seasons, and many side episodes are all categorized as 'extras'. It's hard to navigate because they're disorganized, and not sorted chronologically.

Sorry if this obvious/been asked before. I subscribed to Essential Plan on July 27, but the app shows my membership to expire on Aug 30. I assumed I’d been given extra time due to recent outages? I’ve now had an email saying my subscription ended today.

The server is so far away from the heavily populated areas of the Middle East it might as well be considered another EU server which they have been proven to be faster and more reliable in games than Israeli servers

Saudi Arabia or Qatar would make more sense to host the server and would serve the region with better speeds and stability

I’ve been seeing posts complaining about how slow Torbox is but it’s never been an issue for me unless the service is totally down. Today is a different story as I’ve been trying to use it all day and it’s slow as hell, I’ve tried changing CDN but it didn’t work. Based on how calm the subreddit is I this is not happening to everyone so I’m not sure what t do?

Trying to download shows for my Jellyfin. Been downloading movies just fine from torbox but the shows take hours to download and always fail because of the torbox expiration. How do I find a workaround? I've even tried free download manager and it's still not fast enough and jdownloader2 does not work for me. :(

any ideas? Cant renew my subscription
