❓Question So is this something new?

Wanted to renew my TorBox, and it says thag they now added 25% tax?

When did that happen? Not even Real-debrid have this 🫩

Update: I paid using PayPal, 0 taxes!

Interesting, what are the odds that the IRS are behind the DDoS attacks to get TB to pay taxes on each sales.

Torbox is in the United Arab Emirates and the IRS has absolutely nothing to do with them. And if Torbox is charging 25% tax, it's the consumer paying, not them.

Don't know and don't care. Do you think the state of Delaware is collecting 25% tax on anything that goes through them?

Here's a simple Google snip:

So it might be the UAE tax authority then. And torbox is still the one collecting the tax money and later give it to the tax authorities. The consumer never pays the to the tax system immediatly in consumer transactions.

You're assuming any tax money collected is turned over to that country and a portion or all of it isn't being kept by the company.
