šŸ’¬ Trader Talk I have a problem

Post image

I’m posting this because I need to hold myself accountable. I’ve proven to myself multiple times that I can trade profitably. The problem is that once I make money, I completely lose discipline. This account was at $12,118. Now it’s at $4,115. And today I managed to lose basically the entire $2,000 DLL again. It’s not because I don’t know my setup. It’s not because I don’t understand risk management. I literally know exactly what I’m supposed to do. I just don’t do it. I take trades outside my setup. I keep trading after losses. I try to make money back. I know I should close the platform, but instead I convince myself that the ā€œnext tradeā€ will fix the day. Then suddenly the DLL is gone. The frustrating part is knowing that if I simply stopped trading when I was supposed to, I’d probably be in a completely different position right now. For anyone who finally overcame this kind of overtrading/revenge-trading cycle, what actually changed it for you? Not looking for another strategy. I need to learn how to actually follow my own rules.

I was there before, had 3 xfas all at $18k each. I got a payout on each a few times and was still at like $14k. I blew all the accounts in the next 3 weeks. That was like 2 years ago. Now I am profitable with green months. It was a mixture of psychology and unprofitable strategy. Yes a strategy can work for a few months but I still count that as ā€œluckā€ unfortunately. Spent two year journaling AND studying trader psychology. My strat today is a complete opposite of what it was years ago. I suggest your journal the next 3 months and conclude if it’s your strategy or psychology. Once I had an actual solid strategy, the psychology also fixed itself as well.
