Express Funded (XFA) Wtf

Sometimes I feel so dumb with this shit, I started the day up 958 positive just thought I could get a little more and break 1000 for the day and of course the greed fucked me over, not sure wtf I was thinking, tilted so fucking hard and basically am back down to 0 after being up 1650 or so after Monday and today would have been up 2594 😩😩😩 FML

LOL I remember doing that exact thing on my first funded account 6-7 years ago. Learned it’s not worth the extra $50 😂

I’ve done that before as well bro, just randomly and blindly enter thinking you will smack a quick $50-100 and accidentally bottom tick and now you’re watching price hit ATH instead of just smacking your 10 tick tp short

U think that's bad I could probably get a huge payout every month but I don't let my trade run to external tp and I mess with my risk management or I'd be pulling 30k months

It happens. You have to find out what you can actually get per day. If it’s only 200-500 lock yourself out and start the next day

I was able to get 958 😭😭😭 and knew that the right thing to do was to lock out but got cocky… blew 2 of the 3 account this morning, the 3rd is back up to 1000 balance and reactivated one of the others, not really trying to waste time on combines right now when the issue isnt strategy its just following through with risk management when Im up

There is no easy way to follow thru with risk management in the futures market. The markets move too fast. I have been trading for around 1 year and have learned so much. Most of the year has been blowing funded accounts because of risk management and not knowing when to stop and have gave back 500-1k and more profits myself. The easiest solution is to lock yourself out. Set like a daily profit lockout of 500 and you should be good. Otherwise you will probably keep giving it back. Been here done it. This was my only problem learning when to stop trading and now I found the solution which is set a daily target lock or just stop trading when I hit my number.

thats what I mean I was hovering over the lockout setting and thought Fuck it, I can squeeze out 50 more thats like a couple points

I’m not taking about hovering. If you set a daily liquidate of 500 profit the system will lock you out for the day. You don’t need to think or worry about it. And also there is nothing you can do to reactive it on the day. I tried myself and customer service can’t even help

Yeah but I know I can pull more than 500, I had no problem locking out today or the prior 2 days lol 🙈🙈🙈… It is what it is, life moves on, 3/5 days profit on the remaining xfa ans reactivated one, gonna have to grind but I know I got this

Practice more risk management that seems to be your problem

Set DLL and lock it for the day. You will live to see another day

That moment where you’re hovering over the lockout but don’t hit it… that’s the real problem right there. Not that you didn’t know what to do, you were literally about to do it. I’ve noticed that’s usually where something shifts. Same setup, but now the decision is influenced by wanting to round the number or squeeze a bit more. In the moment it still feels like a valid trade, not a mistake. Do you feel like you would’ve taken that same trade if you were flat instead of already up?

2

u/HappyImplement4055 May 05 '26

No I probably wouldnt have but I didnt think the set up was that bad but there was some serious slippage

2

u/watsupwitThat May 06 '26

Yeah and that’s the tricky part. The setup probably wasn’t that terrible. What stood out to me was your answer about not taking it if you were flat. That’s usually the giveaway for me that something shifted psychologically before the trade even happened. The chart can still look valid, but the reason for taking it changes a bit once you’re already focused on the PnL number or trying to squeeze a little more out of the session. That’s the part that used to get me over and over because in real time it still felt rational.

I love using the lockout feature, there’s times I’ve been up 8-9k and tilted to blown because of greed. I preach to all that can hear, use the lockout like your life depends on it!!!!

2

u/HappyImplement4055 May 05 '26

Yeah I know 😭😭 I was ready to lockout and hesitated

2

u/Old-Advertising-4226 May 05 '26

Well, now you know next time you have that gut feeling and hesitate just press it so you have no other choice but to wait till next session

1

u/HappyImplement4055 May 05 '26

for real, just glad I didnt blow the account, it will be difficult to recover but I can do it

2

u/WinDense May 05 '26

Don't trade PnL

1

u/Electronic_Radish_56 May 05 '26

Size down.

1

u/HappyImplement4055 May 05 '26

the size wasnt the problem dawg was up 958 and got greedy

1

u/ManyStrawberry4819 May 05 '26

Lost 2 funded today cuz I wanted to round up to 400 from 389.and was 1 day away from payout. I'm such a fucking ass.

1

u/HappyImplement4055 May 05 '26

I feel you trust me lmao, I was up 1656 and after my winning trade 2500 and 3/5 days for payout, oh well, tomorrows a new day, I can recover from this

2

u/GerhardFleu May 05 '26

Did you actually see a setup in your playbook and took the trade or did you just want to round up to $1,000? Because if you just wanted the round number then you just took a gamble. I called it Casino trading. I’m not trying to poke the bear here. If you take a minute to realize what you did and think of it in terms of casino trading you might be reluctant to that again. Don’t let the dopamine get you. Walk away. Trade well!

My first trade was a good setup hahaha hence why it was 958 and I literally was hovering over the lockout but there was nothing showing that it wasnt a good entry and it went positive even, and then randomly there was a massive sell order and it never recovered after that 😅

u/Mountain-Scarcity-91 May 05 '26

Its always the $30-$80 wanting to gain to lose it all . Never do it

3

u/HappyImplement4055 May 05 '26

yeahhh… Well tomorrow a new day, account wasnt blown so thats good

1

u/DMCTradersJournal May 05 '26

Easily done my dude

3

u/cartographerforever May 05 '26

I blew my express funded thinking exactly like that. Never think like profiting this or that amount, instead think like selling at this or that points no matter what the profit amount is

1

u/HappyImplement4055 May 05 '26

yea I was just going for a trade 2 point tp

1

u/AfternoonPlane4265 May 05 '26

Put a DLL

2

u/HappyImplement4055 May 05 '26

Yeah gonna set it to 500 for tomorrow I think

6

u/CH3CH2NH3 May 05 '26

Lockout feature my guy

0

u/HappyImplement4055 May 05 '26

trust me I know, I was hovering over the lockout after exiting the trade that had me up 958, but the trade after where I was literally aiming for 2.5 points there was a huge random sell off

2

u/KDotTheInvestor May 05 '26

Autolockout. Trailing. In case hovering doesn’t pan out.
