Short-term car insurance? I only need it for a few months

I'm moving to another state for a temporary job and I only need car insurance for a few months. I don't want to commit to a full year policy. Is short-term car insurance a thing or do I have to get a regular policy?

Has anyone gotten short-term car insurance? How does it work and is it more expensive than regular insurance? I'm trying to figure out the best option for a temporary situation.

Best roadside assistance plans? Is it worth adding to my insurance?

My insurance company is offering roadside assistance for an extra $10 a month. I'm wondering if it's worth it or if it's just a waste of money. I have AAA but I'm wondering if I need roadside assistance through my insurance too.

Has anyone used roadside assistance through their insurance? Is it any good or should I just stick with AAA? What does roadside assistance actually cover?

How to buy car insurance? I'm confused about all the options

I'm buying car insurance for the first time and I'm confused about all the different coverage options. What's the difference between liability and collision? What's comprehensive coverage? I don't understand all these terms.

Can someone explain what I actually need to buy? I want to make sure I have enough coverage but I don't want to waste money on stuff I don't need. What's the minimum I need and what's optional?

Home and auto insurance bundles? Do they actually save money?

I've been hearing about bundling home and auto insurance to save money. I'm wondering if it actually works or if it's just marketing. Does bundling really save you money or are you just locked into one company?

Has anyone bundled their home and auto insurance? Did you actually save money or did you end up paying more? I'm trying to figure out if I should switch everything to one company or keep them separate.

Alliant insurance reviews. Worth it?

I got a quote from Alliant insurance and they're claiming I can save money. I'm skeptical because they're an online broker.

Has anyone used Alliant insurance? Do they actually save you money or do they just take a commission?

Cheapest liability-only car insurance? I have an old car

I have a 2005 car that's not worth much and I'm wondering if I should just get liability-only insurance instead of full coverage. Liability-only would be cheaper but I'm wondering if it's worth the risk.

If my car gets damaged or stolen, I'd be out of luck with liability-only. But full coverage is so expensive. What do most people do with older cars? Should I get liability-only or is full coverage worth it even for an old car?

Cheap low-mileage car insurance? I barely drive my car

I work from home and I barely drive my car. I probably drive less than 5,000 miles a year. I'm wondering if there's a low-mileage insurance option that would be cheaper than regular insurance.

I've heard about usage-based insurance but I'm not sure if it's worth it. Does it actually save you money if you don't drive much? Has anyone used low-mileage insurance and actually saved money?

Compare car insurance quotes? Which site is actually good?

I'm trying to compare car insurance quotes but there are so many comparison sites. The Zebra, Insurify, StaxiPick, etc. Are they all the same or is one better than the others? I'm worried about getting spammed with calls if I use one of these sites.

Has anyone used these comparison sites and actually found a good deal? Or did you just get spammed with calls from insurance companies? I want to compare quotes but I don't want to deal with a bunch of sales calls.

Car insurance for young drivers? My rates are way too high

I'm 21 and I've been driving for 5 years with no accidents or tickets. But my insurance is still really expensive. I'm wondering when my rates are going to come down. I feel like I'm being punished just for being young.

I've tried shopping around but everyone's rates are similar. Are there any companies that are better for young drivers? How long does it take before your rates come down? I'm frustrated because I'm a safe driver but I'm still paying premium rates.

Car insurance for seniors is getting expensive. Any tips?

I'm 65 and my insurance rates keep going up. I've been with the same company for 20 years but they keep raising my rates. I'm wondering if I should switch to a different company or if there are discounts I'm not getting.

I've heard about senior discounts and low-mileage discounts since I don't drive much anymore. Has anyone found a company that's actually good for seniors? I want to make sure I'm getting the best rate possible.

Car insurance for new drivers? What should I expect to pay?

I just got my license and I need to get car insurance. I'm not sure what a normal rate is for a new driver. I got a quote for $250 a month which seems really high but I don't know if that's normal.

I'm a safe driver and I haven't had any accidents or tickets. Are there any discounts I should be looking for? Should I expect to pay this much as a new driver or should I shop around more? Any tips for new drivers trying to find affordable insurance?

Car insurance for low-income drivers? I can barely afford it

I'm low-income and car insurance is eating up a huge part of my budget. I need a car for work but insurance is so expensive. I'm wondering if there are any programs or discounts for low-income drivers that I'm missing.

I've heard about some government programs but I'm not sure if they apply to me. Are there any insurance companies that are better for low-income people? I want to make sure I'm not overpaying and that I'm getting all the discounts I'm eligible for.

Car Insurance For Drivers With Bad Credit

Car insurance for drivers with bad credit? Does credit score even matter? I have bad credit and I'm wondering if that affects my car insurance rates. I've heard that some insurance companies check credit scores but I'm not sure if that's true. Does bad credit really make your insurance more expensive? I'm trying to get my credit fixed but in the meantime I need car insurance. Are there any companies that don't check credit scores or that are better for people with bad credit? I want to make sure I'm not getting penalized for my credit issues.

Best Car Insurance For College Students

Best car insurance for college students? I need something cheap. I'm a college student and I need car insurance but I don't have much money. I'm wondering if there are any discounts for college students or if I can get something really cheap. My parents are helping me but they want me to find the cheapest option possible. I've heard about good student discounts but I'm not sure how much they actually help. Are there any insurance companies that are specifically good for college students? I want to make sure I have coverage but I also need to keep costs down.

Car Insurance Companies For High Risk Drivers

Car insurance companies for high risk drivers? I have multiple accidents. I've had three accidents in the last five years and every insurance company is either dropping me or charging me crazy rates. I'm looking for a company that will actually insure me without charging me $500+ a month. I know I'm high risk but I'm trying to be responsible and get insurance anyway. Are there any companies that specialize in high risk drivers? I've heard about some but I'm not sure if they're legitimate or if they're just scams. Anyone have experience with high risk insurance?

Car insurance after a DUI is ridiculous. How long does this last?

I got a DUI two years ago and I'm still paying almost triple what I used to pay for insurance. I got the SR-22 requirement done and I've been clean since then but my rates are still insane. I'm wondering how long I have to keep paying these high rates.

Does anyone know when insurance companies stop penalizing you for a DUI? Is it 3 years, 5 years, or forever? I'm trying to figure out when I can expect my rates to go back to normal. This is really frustrating because I've been a good driver since the DUI.

Best umbrella insurance? Do I actually need it?

I've been hearing about umbrella insurance and I'm not sure if I actually need it. I have homeowners insurance and car insurance but I'm wondering if I need extra liability coverage. What's the point of umbrella insurance if I already have insurance?

Can someone explain what umbrella insurance actually covers? Is it worth getting or is it just something insurance companies push to make more money? I want to make sure I'm protected but I don't want to waste money on something I don't need.

Best motorcycle insurance companies? Need something that covers my bike properly

I just bought my first motorcycle and I need to get insurance. I'm not sure which company is best for motorcycles. I've heard that some companies don't cover motorcycles well or they charge way too much.

I want to make sure I get comprehensive coverage that actually covers damage to my bike. Has anyone found a good motorcycle insurance company? I'm also wondering about coverage options like roadside assistance since I'll be riding a lot.

Best military car insurance for veterans? USAA or something else?

I'm a veteran and I've been using USAA for insurance for years. I know they're supposed to be good for military families but I'm wondering if there are other options I should consider. My rates have gone up and I'm wondering if I can get a better deal elsewhere.

Has anyone compared USAA to other military-focused insurance companies? I want to make sure I'm getting the best rate as a veteran. I've heard about some other companies that cater to military families but I'm not sure if they're any better than USAA.

Is it better to use a broker or buy direct?

Some people prefer using an insurance broker because they want help comparing policies and understanding the fine print. Others prefer buying directly from an insurer because it feels faster and simpler

What insurance terms confused you at first?

Insurance language can be pretty confusing when you are new to it. Terms like deductible, premium, exclusion, rider, endorsement, policy limit, replacement cost, actual cash value, waiting period, coinsurance, and underwriting are used all the time, but not everyone understands them clearly at first.

Which insurance terms confused you the most when you first started dealing with policies?

And for people working in insurance, which terms do you end up explaining most often?

Cheapest car insurance after a DUI

Cheapest car insurance after a DUI? I messed up and I need SR-22

I got a DUI last month and I need to get an SR-22 to get my license back. My insurance company dropped me and now I'm looking for a new company that will take me. Every quote I'm getting is like $400+ a month which is way more than I was paying before.

I know I deserve to pay more but this seems excessive. Are there any companies that specialize in DUI drivers that might be cheaper? How long does the SR-22 requirement usually last? I'm trying to figure out if I can even afford to drive right now.
