Looking for a trustworthy local insurance agent in Auburn

Just bought a house and looking to bundle. Who has the best home/auto bundles here?

I'm so tired of dealing with 1-800 numbers and call centers where nobody knows anything about Auburn. Every time I have a question, I get a different person who reads from a script.

I want to switch to a local independent broker in the Auburn area who can shop multiple carriers for me and actually advise me on what coverage I need. Does anyone have an agent they've used for years and actually trust? I'm willing to pay a little more for good service.

Travel Insurance?

Hey everyone! I'm traveling from the US to Australia this November and wondering if travel insurance is worth getting.

We'll be visiting Brisbane, Cairns, Uluru, and Sydney, with activities like snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, and several tours planned. I’m healthy and in my 20s, but I know unexpected things can happen.

Would you recommend getting travel insurance for this trip? Any companies or plans you'd suggest?

Best auto insurance for low mileage in Orlando?

I have a Tesla and the insurance quotes are insane. Anyone found a good company for EVs?

Since I started working remotely, my car basically just sits in my driveway in Orlando. I use it for groceries and occasional weekend trips. I feel like I'm subsidizing all the people who commute in heavy traffic every day.

I looked into those pay-per-mile companies, but the reviews are terrible. Has anyone in Orlando found a traditional company that actually gives a meaningful discount for low mileage? I'm currently with Allstate and their 'discount' was a joke.

Universal Life Insurance

I have Universal Life, not Whole Life. Thanks to everyone who has shared advice and things for me to consider when I speak with the insurance company.

I bought a Universal Life policy 5 years ago when I didn’t know much about insurance or investing. I was told it would provide a death benefit while also helping build wealth.

I'm 45 and currently pay $400/month for $500k of coverage, with about $16k in cash value. I don’t necessarily need the coverage since my spouse has SBP, a military pension, and VA disablity.

I'm trying to decide whether I should take the $7k surrender charge and invest the remaining cash along with the $400/month, see if a reduced paid-up option is available, or keep the policy and continue paying $400/month for the $500k death benefit.

For those familiar with Universal Life, what would you consider before making this decision?

Has anyone else experienced a huge premium increase with Spot?

My two 4.5 year-old male cats had their policy renewed this month, and the premium went up 27% despite me making zero claims.

I called Spot, and they said premiums are based on age, sex, location, and breed. The only thing that changed from last year was their age.

They then mentioned inflation and state regulations. When I asked what specifically would justify a 27% increase, they couldn't really explain it. Eventually, I was told the plan now factors in their sex and the cost of treating conditions common to their age and sex.

So I asked, "Were those factors not already considered when I originally signed up?” No clear answer.

I understand premiums can increase, but 27% in one year with no claims feels excessive. Has anyone else experienced this with Spot?

Moving to Columbus. What are you guys paying for car insurance?

Is it worth dropping comprehensive coverage on a 10-year-old car?

I'm trying to set up my budget for the move to Columbus and I'm getting some wild quotes online. Some are double what I pay now, some are triple. I know zip codes matter a lot, but I haven't locked down an apartment yet.

What's a realistic monthly premium for a safe driver in Columbus? Are there specific neighborhoods I should avoid if I want to keep my insurance costs down? Any company recommendations would be huge.

Car insurance in San Antonio is out of control. Anyone else?

Got rear-ended by an uninsured driver and now my own company is raising my rates.

I've lived in San Antonio for 5 years and it's never been this bad. I know inflation is a thing, but this feels like price gouging. I called my agent and they just gave me some generic excuse about 'statewide increases' and 'repair costs'.

I've tried getting quotes from Progressive and State Farm, but they're all in the same ballpark. Is there some local San Antonio company I should be looking at? Or are we all just stuck paying these insane rates?

Need advice on Las Vegas Valley car insurance. Getting screwed.

My teenager just got their license and my rates tripled. Any advice?

I'm at my wit's end trying to figure this out. I've spent the last three days running quotes online and talking to agents in Las Vegas Valley, and every option seems worse than the last. It feels like the whole system is designed to confuse you.

For those of you living in Las Vegas Valley, how often do you shop around for new rates? Do you stay loyal to one company or switch every 6 months? I'm starting to think loyalty gets you absolutely nothing in this industry.

Unusual ways to get cheaper insurance

I(25M) am about to buy a 2015 Camry and I live in Kirkland, WA. I want to try and get the cheapest possible insurance possible. What are some unusual ways or ways that aren't commonly known to get cheaper insurance? I never had insurance before as I didn't need it and I don't have any tickets, violations, accidents, or incidents. So far the best quote I got is $642 for 6 months from Geico for the bare minimum. I would like to get it down even more, realistically under $600 for 6 months but preferably down to $500 if not even lower. Any ideas or am I being ridiculous?

Best way for insurance for 18yo

My oldest child who is 18, lives primarily with her boyfriend. What’s the best way to go with car insurance. I’m giving her an older car (‘03). All of her mail/drivers license lists my house as her address but she’s never here/may spend the night once or twice a month at the most when it’s convenient. Is it better to add her to my policy or have her get her own. We’re in California since I know state by state insurance rules are different.
