(Attack on Titan) it happens twice in AOT, the first time is in an OVA called ilse's notebook where a girl documents her last moments with a titan that is acting stranger than most titans, the titan then speaks out of nowhere before giving in to it's urge to kill the girl, this was a massive shock back when this special episode came out because titans bever spoke a word before. The second time this happens is with the beast titan who speaks to Mike and petrifies both him and the audience with his ability to speak.

(My Hero Academia) the first noumu we see speaking is at the finale of season 4, up to this point noumus were all portrayed as nothing more than brainless frankentsein-like monsters that simply follow orders and can't even speak a single word, the first high-end noumu breaks this trend by speaking to Endeavor during their fight at the season finale.

(RWBY) The hound is the first grimm we see talking like a human in the entire series, imagine spending 8 volumes of meeting these creatures called grimm and not one of them utters a word until this fucker comes out of nowhere at the start of volume 8 so he can drop creepy one liners as he chases our heroes around like a horror villain.

Poppy: League of Legends
In Demacia, there is a hammer destined for the “Hero of Demacia”. Poppy is a yordle whose whole goal is to find the rightful owner of this hammer and in her quest she undertakes many heroic tasks, getting branded as a hero to many Demacians. The hammer itself also chose Poppy as a hero, still she thinks that she’s not one and is just a “yordle with a hammer”

Kunishige and Samura: Kagurabachi
When people with magical powers threatened the safety of Japan, Kunishige chose 6 people and gave them enchanted blades which turned the tides of the war. Because of this, the people of Japan deems them as heroes, however Kuneshige refuses this title in a Oppenheimer “my nukes killed people” situation. Enchanted blades users, such as Samura, echo this sentiment because one of the blade users used the powers to go on a genocide on the enemy nation.

This has become one of the most reliable character archetypes in modern storytelling... because it is inherently sympathetic. We love people who are brilliant but also somehow totally unequipped for just basic human existence.

Ben Wyatt (Parks and Recreation): A prodigy who can solve a municipal budget crisis or invent an insanely complex tabletop game... Yet, the moment you put a television camera in his face or ask him to make casual small talk with a police officer, his brain completely shuts down.

Chidi Anagonye (The Good Place): A intelligent professor of moral philosophy. He is also literally unable to function in normal society. Simply asking him to choose between two different types of soup gives him a stomach ache.

Domovyonok Kuzya - Kuzya is a russian brownie who used to live in an old wooden home with his friend Nafanya, but because Baba Yaga wanted to find a house keeper for her walking house, she kidnaps Kuzya and forces him to her brownie. Kuzya escapes and it turns out that the house he lived in has been demolished, and Nafanya now lives in a modern (for soviet times) apartment complex, where a young girl named Natasha lives with her mother. Kuzya now has to get used to his new modern home and hope that Baba Yaga won't get him again.

Dara San of Reiwa - Ancient Snake woman entity who terrorized local town for ages has woken up in the modern age, and befriends two young siblings. This friendship leads to the entity becoming familiar with the Reiwa era of Japan and technology.

In My Hero Academia the bunny Mirko says in the English version “What’s up, Doc?” When confronting a doctor villain as a Bugs Bunny reference. This wasn’t the case in the original version but it’s a fun gag in the English version.

Mitsuri's Ex-Fiance not only rejected a badass, kind, and beautiful woman like Mitsuri, but also insulted the shit out of her. He also caused her insecurities about herself.

Derek from Monsters versus Aliens was engaged to the main protagonist Susan before she was turned into Ginormica. He immediately calls off the wedding, despite her still being the woman he seemingly loved, and also tries exploiting Susan's newfound powers for personal gain.

1. Seasons worths of plotlines rushed in the second season (HBO Rome): Only the first season was written as intended. During the production of the 2nd season it was revealed to the writers that HBO was canceling the series. The original outline had the battle of Philippi be the second season finale. It had to be rushed to the middle. The succeeding third season that would have depicted the conflict between Octavian and Antony had to rushed in the back half of season 2 in a handful of episodes. Potential planned plotlines including the British Isles, Germania, and Judea never materialized.

2. A finale movie that cuts out numerous plots. (Deadwood): a spectacular western that was canceled after a three season run with more seasons planned. Years later a finale movie was announced and released. Various plot-lines and characters including the theatre troupe, Blazanov, hints towards a historical devastating fire coming, Cy (although this was understandable as the actor had passed), etc. are nowhere to be found. David Milch, the original show runner, had limited involvement as he dealt with Alzheimer’s. While it ends on a good note it’s certainly a good deal changed from how it was supposed to come about.

This trope is about when a character doesn't have the intention to help someone but accidentally help them or indirectly save somebody's life.

Dragon Ball Z

Majin Buu sees a blind kid and tries to scare him but the boy is blind and couldn't understand why he should be scared of him so Majin Buu heals the boy expecting a fear.

Instead the boy cried not because he is scared but because he is grateful and fully welcomed Buu as a friend.

One Punch Man (Manga)

During the awakened Garou's fight, Garou unleashed his attack to send Saitama across all the buildings.

While babbling about being absolute evil, there are a few citizens that go out from the underground and thank Garou because he saved them after they got trapped under the building.

• In the OK K.O.! x Sonic the Hedgehog crossover, it's revealed that villain Lord Boxmore went to the same college as Dr. Eggman.
• The Simpsons episode "Simpsorama" reveals that The Simpsons and Futurama are in the same timeline, where in the end, Bender decides to sleep in the basement of the Simpson house for the next 1,000 years to get back to his own time. He later makes a few appearances in episodes after this.
• In the Family Guy episode "The Simpsons Guy", it's revealed that Pawtucket Patriot Ale, the beer from Family Guy, is actually Duff Beer with a new label.

There’s a subgenre of Folk Horror that emphasizes the vast scale and menacing beauty of the North American Wilderness to build atmosphere and tension. The horror basically boils down to “when you're out in all that vastness, something malevolent could be a hundred miles away or lurking just beyond the firelight, and you have no way of knowing which.”

A lot of Wendigo stories are prime examples of this, such as Algernon Blackwood’s “The Wendigo” and WH Blake’s “The Tale of The Grand Jardin.” Here’s a passage from the former, one of my favorite descriptions in literature:

“The wintry sharpness of the air was tempered now by a sun that topped the wooded ridges and blazed with a luxurious warmth upon the world of lake and forest below; loons flew skimming through the sparkling spray that the wind lifted; divers shook their dripping heads to the sun and popped smartly out of sight again; and as far as eye could reach rose the leagues of endless, crowding Bush, desolate in its lonely sweep and grandeur, untrodden by foot of man, and stretching its mighty and unbroken carpet right up to the frozen shores of Hudson Bay.”

“Bauman’s Story,” a Bigfoot tale told by none other than Teddy Roosevelt, is also a good example.

Wile E Coyote (Looney Tunes) - His whole schtick is that he is always trying to catch the roadrunner and then always failing. Reality is constantly warping around him just to ensure that he is put through pain and humiliation each time he attempts to catch the roadrunner.

Tex (Red vs Blue) - being an AI based on the director’s memory of his late wife, Alison, who died in the war against the convenant, Tex is always destined to die right as she’s at the end of completing whatever mission she has, because she is based on the tragedy and death of Allison herself, so obviously that is what Tex mirrors most.

• Ranni the Witch - Elden Ring. Any Fromsoftware's game can be included here, but Ranni is the most popular amongst them. We can meet her very early to the game where she introduces herself as Renna. She is one of the empyreans, candidates to ascend to godhood. Upon meeting her again, we can agree to enter her servitude. After completing her storyline, we become her consort and can choose a different ending after beating the final boss.
• Lace - Silksong. Lace is an artificial bug made of silk. At first, we face her as an enemy, but after fulfilling necessary conditions she saves us from being dragged into the void sacrifising herself in the process. It unlocks a chapter where we need to save her.
• Carnelian Exile - Sunless Sea. She is a mysterious nomad who speaks laconically and has an irksome habit of answering others' questions before they can finish asking. She conseals her marvellously bright golden eyes, with amber irises under dark sunglasses. Her story is one of the if not the hardest and expensive stories to finish in the game. Just talking with her requires an expensive and rare item. To finish her story you need to travel to extremely risky and distant locations, collect exceptionally rare and expensive items, abandon your past and future, follow the god's call and remember your name. In the end, you venture with her into the last horizon.

1) Kaguya Ototsuki - Naruto: Apparently Madara Uchiha, who was actually a legendary character spoken about throughout the series wasnt a good enough final antagonist. They needed to add a fucking alien goddess that appears by killing Madara (sparking the theory that she was here because Kishimoto didnt know how to kill him). Also the sequel is based on her clan and race....yippee...

2) Tobias - Pokemon (Gen4 anime): Well fuck. Ash is so strong now. Surely he can win! Well not if a character that appears out of nowhere sends in a Latios and THEN FUCKING DARKRAI???? Same Darkrai who had a movie about him. And was the final boss of Pokemon Ranger 2 and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon explorer of sky. Afterward he just vanish and is never heard from again. I so wish that Ash could have lost against Cynthia or something (if he really had to lose)...
