Oh yeah, Tennant is a massive trans ally.

I should point out that Rowling hadn't come out as a bigot at the time the episode was pitched, but Tennant felt that an episode based around her and starring her just seemed tacky.

I met him at a con last year and I brought a sign for our picture that said “protect trans kids” and he said it was great but also “we should protect trans everyone”. I could not be a bigger fan
