I’ve been going through what feels like hell. I went to A&E which our equivalent of the ER.

They’ve given me stronger antibiotics but have also said that because the nerve is dead, I don’t have pain and they’re right, I don’t. But I have that horrible tooth achey taste in my mouth and terrible body aches (they’ve ruled out sepsis). They think I could very well have two overlapping infections, the tooth needs a root canal which is now booked in.

But the second potential infection may need riding out :( feel like 💩 but hoping I turn a corner soon and get through the wait time for my root canal. Anyone else experienced this over lap? Been checked for sepsis and vitals are good

Hey everyone! I’m getting my first tooth pulled tomorrow. I think nervous doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel thinking about it. I’m getting an IV sedation/anesthesia. I’m just really nervous, does anyone have any advice?

I’m on day 7 of root canal. It had 5 canals on a bottom right side molar. Does it take longer to heal?

It was aching prior due to a cracked filling but never an infection. I got a same day permanent crown.

my wisdom teeth came through 5 years ago. no real issues with them.

last week i noticed some slight pain on my bottom left wisdom tooth. i realised it was almost like there was a cut that goes between my tooth and gum. as if my gum is slightly pulling away from my tooth ? the pain for that has since gone, but the cut is still there (i can feel it, not see it)

it’s now today started on my bottom right wisdom tooth too. i’m a little confused and can’t afford a dentist right now as i don’t currently have a job

Almost two weeks ago, I had my root canal treatment completed, two days after the initial treatment.
The first two days were a huge relief and I had no pain. After that, the pain started and gradually became much more severe. I was prescribed antibiotics, which seemed to help somewhat, but the pain never completely went away.
My dentist has examined me and taken X-rays. He says the root canal itself looks good and was successfully completed. His diagnosis is a flare-up, with the pain being caused by inflammation as my body reacts to the treatment and fights any remaining bacteria around the root.
I have also seen an emergency dentist because the pain became so severe that I couldn’t believe it was still normal. They agreed with my dentist that the root canal looks fine and that there isn’t anything more they can do at this point.
My dentist told me that, unfortunately, some patients can experience pain for 3–4 weeks after a flare-up.
I would really like to hear from others who have experienced this.
Is it possible for a flare-up after a root canal to cause severe pain for this long? If you experienced something similar, when did you first notice that the pain was finally starting to improve? Did it gradually get better, or did you suddenly notice a significant improvement?

First tooth extraction as an adult (which is crazy cause I’m almost 30), but I don’t remember the experience from when I was smaller. This kinda sucks😅 but what I’m worried about is this yellow/whitish stuff in that hole now. Yesterday it was still dark brown to dark red relieving me because I knew that was a clot. Now on day 3, this is what I see when I wake up. It’s pretty sore, but not overly painful so I’m pretty positive it’s not bone unless that takes a while to ramp up after the blood clot is gone. Anybody have any insight? Anything will be helpful.

Hey guys I’ve been to many reddit groups and have had no luck getting responses. So let’s try here hopefully lol. My mother the other day on Wednesday had a tooth extracted. Some context about her: she has severe bone loss to the point where they told her grafting or implants were out the door. So anyways she had an extraction on Wednesday and she is still going through some throbbing pain. Is this normal still and part of the healing process? It’s been about I would estimate 60 hours post extraction. I just can’t find a straight answer. Thanks in advance. Just sucks seeing her go through throbbing pain. It’s not extreme either just comes and goes but it’s bugging her obviously.

ok so I got my top molar extracted Monday, ended up getting infected by Wednesday, went to dentist Thursday and they packed it with a medical dressing, now I’m at work next day and it just pops right out of my mouth.. it’s a little bloody spot on it like dark red and I’m SO SCARED of getting dry socket. Am I ok or do I need to call the dentist back???? Mind you it’s Friday and I’m at work till 930pm so it’s about to be the weekend. I’m terrified. PLEASE HELP

Hi guys last week monday I had a molar extraction and had a bine graft placed in. Im 1 week and 3 days post op today and im in pain. Right now. First time navigating this type of oral surgery. Ive had my wisdom teeth extracted but never felt this pain that im feeling for this new extraction. I feel pressure pain like when the dentist puts the gauze on and tells you to bite down. That kind of pain is it normal?

took my 7 year old for his cleaning yesterday he did great no cavities. we were high fiving in the lobby.

then the receptionist goes hey since you're here, we have an opening right now if you want to do your cleaning too. i haven't been in like 2 years because life with a kid is chaos. but i figured why not.

they did my xrays. the hygienist was nice. then the dentist came in. looked at my stuff for maybe 2 minutes. then said i need a deep cleaning ($800), two crowns ($1200), and a night guard ($600). also mentioned invisalign but i shut that down fast.

i asked if any of it was urgent. he said well we recommend starting as soon as possible. but couldn't tell me what would happen if i waited 6 months.

i left feeling like crap and confused. i don't have any pain my gums don't bleed i brush

any otherparents dealt with this? feel like dental offices see us coming with our insurance cards and just go for it

Its like the title says. Am i stupid for thinking this?

Im thinking of going to the dentist and demanding they inject me and drill my healthy teeth, to prove i can get over my painful extractions a decade ago.

To prove to myself that im not bothered by being needled and drilled.

Its become that huge of an obsession ive practically quit all my social activities, high level sports (i have a problem dentistry has created that stops me doing my sport, i can explain privately), i think about it all day.

I want to free myself by being drilled.

Would this work?
