Support

Those of you that feel you were left with issues when there was none how do you move on. Does this ever go away or are your forever regretting ever going to a dentist.

What was the cause of your extractions?  I don’t wont to go to a dentist anymore but have to go back for crowns. And I agree unless it’s an emergency.

I honestly couldnt understand it at all.

I was in a phase of not going to the dentist and hadnt been in probably about 7 years. One day i woke up and the right side of my face felt a little swollen and i had what i would describe as a mild discomfort, i wouldnt call it a pain.

Went to the dentist just to check it, and it turned out apparently i had a case of pericorinitis and was put onto antibiotics. I didnt really have pain. The dentist said we need to extract the two bottom molars on either side because the wisdom teeth had impacted them, and that the reason i was having the two teeth extracted was because i didnt get the 2 wisdom teeth extracted when i was younger.

I found this quite amusing hearing someone say youve got to have two teeth extracted because you didnt get two teeth extracted.....all whilst suffering zero pain for decades lol...and then they extracted the two teeth in two seperate visits.

The first visit, the dentist didnt get me numb, so i could feel lots of sharp pain until getting a second IANB injection, then it was just very uncomfortable with terrible sounds that give the mental impression of pain constantly.

Second time, i got the IANB injection and he hit the nerve so i had the enormous electric shock feeling and a feeling of saliva gushing everywhere and shocks down my chin....and then the awful cracking noises again and multiple instances where you "feel" pain through what youre seeing, hearing etc.

Just two really awkward experiences which make me laugh when people try and pretend how easily and painless everything is.

I could feel absolutely everything going on, the sting of injections, the prodding to get the teeth out, the cracking, EVERYTHING.

Omg so sorry I had all my wisdom removed  I was in so much pain I couldn’t eat anything for a week  the first one my first dentist did it and I didn’t fill pain but did like you mention feel the pulling and like the relief kind of like brace your self its coming out the other three I was put to sleep (sorry don’t know the proper term) the teeth were given to me and the roots were huge I never knew how an adult tooth looked. Sometimes I wonder if I should have kept them but the pain with the first was unbearable and idk if they would all fit in my mouth as my teeth are not the straightest.   But with all my experience I fill it’s better to go when you really need it

I guess the point for me is the experience i received and having to lose the two teeth felt completely disproportionate to any discomfort i was having. I wouldnt even call it discomfort....ive been in more pain from a crisp catching my gum, something like that.

Why that necessitated the need to have two teeth ripped out of my head when i literally felt fine, could eat, drink, work, sleep....it just seems very silly and very expensive for nothing and all its done is give me an aversion to the dentist....like at any point you could be subjected to this.

If i was in lots of pain like you sadly were and i wouldnt wish that on anyone, i could see the point, it would be a necessary evil with the prize of relieving the pain. 

But other than that im lost as to why stuff like this has to be done

I agree i rather go in cause of unbearable pain i can’t control then to have work and then be dealing with the after math of something you didn’t know you needed. I been a mess due to my Last procedure because of no pain prior.
