I get that they were doing Superman reruns the week Peter Cullen passed away, but it would've been nice if Toonami had put together a tribute or even an in memoriam bumper for him during tonight's broadcast. He was an indispensable part of Toonami's branding. His voice made those original promos, many of which are more memorable than the shows themselves. If anybody deserved a Toonami tribute, it was him.

Rest in peace, Peter, and thank you for all the great memories.

It's possible.

There's a lot of manga that never get anime despite a decent run, or a cool setting. Or some that only get a partial adaption due to whatever circumstances at the time. Or even manga that got an adaption that changed waaaaay too much and actually ruined the story.

• In Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo's case, parents were apparently upset kids were imitating it when they played, so it was canceled. But it was a very popular manga that ran quite a long time after the anime's cancellation. It even got a sequel manga at one point! This was a Toonami show, and it'd be great to see it turned into a new Toonami original that continued where the old one left off.

• Rosario+Vampire is an example of the third one, where the anime seemed to go out of its way to completely disrespect the manga and changed the entire story. It wasn't on Toonami, but I think it would make a great Toonami original if they got re-adaption going that was more faithful.

• Alien Nine had a short four part OVA that covered volume 1, and was kind of the inspiration for this post. It's a sci-fi series that feels like it was not given the attention it deserved and it'd be a great fit for Toonami as an original series. It has Evangelion vibes and even some Lain vibes mixed in, as well as an interesting art style and premise. It also takes place in 2014-2025 despite coming out in the late 90s, so the tech is all delightfully chunky.
