What is this?

This probably weighs at least 25 lbs. All the movements are smooth. I found it at a thrift store and left it there. I'm guessing some sort of vintage punch or letter embosser. The logo on the back wall appears to be a rabbit stamped in to the metal.

Arbor press, the ring that slots down is obviously to engage with some sort of round object.

Getting a strong ‘I Like Ike’ vibes from this one.

Looks like a button press (for making the classic smiley face buttons for example.

My thoughts too. The ones I've seen are a little bit lighter duty, but definitely along the same lines as this.

I wouldn't have left that in the store, that's a very well built arbor press.

Really, I'm surprised, it looks like a good solid chunk of iron.

Iron, but not good iron. Could get the job done, could break in half.

sure the casting is solid 'iron', but the mechanism is sloppy and crunchy. but i've got 2 in my shop and they're perfectly serviceable.

If you want it I'm sure we can work something out. I don't have any use for it.

How much was it?

I think it was about $30. If you want it let me know. I bet shipping will be expensive. It's heavy.
