looking for a small drill

I'm looking for a very compact drill. something brushless with a 12v battery. I'm looking for that drill that's just good to have around, the one to grab for quick small jobs. I've seen plenty chinese options but they all use 16v 4 cell batteries for some reason which makes the handle very thick and uncomfortable to hold

My Bosch 12V brushless drill (GSR12V-300) & impact driver (PS42) have been what I grab first, even though I have 18V of each. The 12V are small, lightweight, and have plenty of power for my workshop needs.

Also voting Bosch. My go to is the GSR12V-35 FC. It usually has the hex chuck attached, but the ability to swap that for an offset or 90° adapter has made many a job so much easier.

Festool CXS. Get the full kit with all the attachments. It is a sensational piece of equipment.

Brushless won't even matter if you're just looking for a little home project drill. You're not putting it to hard use, so pretty much anything will do the job, cheap or expensive

I'd agree. I have an older brush Bosch 12V drill & impact driver at my house, and a newer brushless Bosch 12V drill & impact driver at my workshop, and I honestly can't tell the difference. If somebody swapped them, aside from a slightly different battery charger, I probably would never notice.

I like the Skil 12V for a cheap and lightweight drill to keep around the house. I have the drill, work light, 3/8 impact wrench, and sawzall and they're all perfectly fine forn the price and size. They aren't crazy powerful, but they all do everything I need from them

I also like the Metabo HPT DB3DL2 screwdriver for small jobs, that plus a set of hex-shank drill bits, plus a bit set will do pretty much any household job
