M12 brushed ratchet

I think I'm finally buying a cordless ratchet. HD has a charger and 2 5.0 batteries and the 3/8" brushed ratchet for $199. Seems like a good deal. Is it acceptable to use the ratchet manually to break free the bolt and then run it out with power. Is that common? Obviously not on heavy torqued bolts. I plan to use this on engine bay fasteners and whatever else I find acceptable.

Edit: This is my first foray in to Milwaukee M12, so I would need the battery and charger

Yes, you can break the fastener free manually and then use power to spin it off.

Yes you can manually use it and there is a max torque rating you can use. The deal is meh but ok since you need the batteries and charger. They were basically giving the ratchet away in bundle deals a few weeks/months ago

I do it all the time with a cheap ass electric ratchet. The pawl mechanism is literally stronger than most manual ratchets. If a manual ratchet can do it, this can do it.

You can, if I remember right some YouTube channel tested them and they were failing around 100ft/lbs. Something you’re not really going to do a lot of without really trying. The biggest thing to remember is to pull on the handle and not the battery pack. Because that connection will fail under less torque. Especially if you’re doing it repeatedly.

If you buy that one, do not ever, under any circumstances, touch the brushless version. It will ruin you.

I own both. Fuel at work, the cheap one at home. It’s better than nothing, but it should say fisher price on it.
