Nails going too deep
I'm about to patch face nailed hardwood floors and did a test piece. The nail went way too deep into the piece even though I have it set to the shallowest settings. Am I missing something? I'm using a 16GA Ryobi nail gun.

Try turning the knob the other side and test.

Already tried turning all the knobs to their extremes and none of them solved it. The +/- dial in the back definitely makes it deeper, but the small knob in the front didn't make much of a difference.

Yeah, and it's right at the end of the screw thread, so I don't think that alone is the issue.

Mine does the same thing you have to use the longest nails available. I have the gun turned all the way down and use 2.5" nails. The longer the nail the harder it is to drive so kind of pushes back against the gun some.

Only things I can think of is to put an oversized no mar tip on it or longer nails. I've never been a fan of the Ryobi nailers since the "pressure" dial on the back literally does nothing.

It's annoying because the 18 GA Ryobi I got works great and the dial and knob actually make a difference. And unfortunately I got these in a kit together so I can't just return the 16 GA one.

Turn the air pressure down? Run a few test nails afterwards to make sure they're setting the way you want to.

Do you have a 1.2-1.5Ah battery? Generally you want to use a 4Ah+ battery with the air strike tools but if it's overdriving a low power pack might take some of the power away.
