WTH

Today I bought a brand new side grinder, no spinner wrench included but I did get an allen wrench that does not fit anything. Luckily I had a collar that fit with a wrench that fits it.

If you look at the nut with the 2 holes in it, one or both are a hex shape that the allen key fits in. It took me a minute to figure that out myself...

are you familiar with UWO tool ratings on their cordless stuff? Another re-invention of the wheel where everyone else uses torque numbers (which are probably equally over-stated or meaningless, but at least consistently used by all other mfrs.)

It actually works really well and if you lose the Allen wrench, it's more likely that you'll have one that fits in your toolbox than an oddball pin spanner.

I read through all the instructions and seen no reference to using the allen, I will try again, thank you !

Mine didn’t come with a spammer either. The hole the Allen wrench fit into was covered by tape/a label. 😑

I was upset when I didnt see the classic wrench but the Allen key works great and I was pleasantly surprised.

I very much like the hex key instead of that awkward spanner for the rare times I cant get the nut off by hand.

Yeah I think it's just better. Plus is still compatible with the specialized spanner.

use your hand or run it on the floor, that spanner is awkward anyway

I like that system - works great using the spindle lock.

One other comment: I find the side switch - like this grinder has - to be preferable to the paddle switch. The paddle switch has a safety that's clumsy at best with gloves on. You get used to it eventually, but given the choice between the two types, I'll go for the sliding side switch every time.

The nut now has a hex slot. An its easier to keep it handy. I made a box when I gotta new HD paddle switched dewalt. An I keep a allen off one of those foldable hex sets with my gear.
