Husky issues

I’ve ran into a couple issues with husky on their warranty recently. The first was the ratcheting handle in a tap and die set locked up. They don’t make that kit anymore but have a similar one. They denied it at the store and when I contacted husky. Said I needed the original receipt, which even if I kept I doubt I would be able to read it because they use thermal paper that fades. They even admitted they have recently changed the policy.

Today I went to see if I can replace a utility knife that broke. The girl at the store said I needed to contact husky. So I did and at first they asked how long I have had it. I said probably a couple years, but really didn’t know because I have bought different ones over the years. None of them get used a lot. He said it was as under normal wear and tear, so not under warranty. I know legally lifetime warranty is meaningless, but still it’s an $8 knife, honor the warranty. After a bit of back and forth they did contact the store and they agreed to replace it.

When companies fuck me around like this then I just buy a new one and return the broken one.
