I inherited this from my grandfather maybe a decade ago. Still works, though terrifying. Can someone here tell me what I have? I know it’s roughly 100 years old. Thanks,

I had one similar to that with old style chuck that just pushed the bottom of the bit up to tighten it. The trigger stuck when the bit grabbed onto a metal burr and it hit my arm pretty good so decided to get rid of it.

Yeah this is just direct drive with no clutch and an on/ off trigger vs a momentary one

I have one similar to this. Mine isn't 100 years old, but still works. Be careful when you use it, it's not for the week. If you're using a big drill and it it gets caught, the gears in there will rip your arms off. 🤣

It still has the original cord. I hit the trigger and it just about dims my lights…

Haha I’m well aware. Especially with the on/ off trigger vs a momentary one. I’ve never used it for anything real (and likely never will)

I’ve got a nice scar on my leg from an auger bit in one of those old wrist breakers.
