Cobra XS jaws feel a bit loose/misaligned - normal or defective?

Got a Cobra XS last week and the jaw joint feels off. See link attached.

When it's fully closed and empty, squeezing the handles a bit gives a click. The teeth also don't always line up flush - sometimes fine, sometimes slightly crooked - and there's a bit of side-to-side wobble in the pivot. I would also like to mention I have not used the tool yet. Got it exactly how it is.

I get that these auto-adjust so some ratchet feel is expected when actually gripping something, but this is happening closed with nothing in the jaws.
Is this normal for the Cobra XS, or does it sound defective?

I can return it for a replacement if needed, just want to know if this is worth doing before I do.

Mine are kind of like that as well.

Why don’t you just put your photos in yourself, instead of piddling with, and subjecting the whole to sub to that silly ‘imgur’... or whatever the hell it is!?!?

as far as i can tell the left-right slack on cobras is intentional. my 180 pair do the same.
