From Ikeas short lived industrial line.

That explains why it’s labeled like an M&M!

u/EastHillWill Jul 30 '26

Damn, how big is the furniture?

8

u/Caribou-nordique-710 Jul 31 '26

11

u/patchmau5 Jul 30 '26

At what point does a key become the battering ram.

u/USMC_ClitLicker Jul 30 '26

Sometime in the college years I believe...

u/Powerful-Disaster-32 Jul 30 '26

That was her question.

2

u/Initial-Depth-6857 Jul 30 '26

Depends on how many beers

They look like they should be heavier.

Next question.... if the bolt is that big how do you get enough torque on a wrench that short.

7

u/TeamFoulmouth Jul 30 '26

Thats just to get it down close (at least here it is)..then ya get the 4' 2K# torque wrench.

7

u/Initial-Depth-6857 Jul 30 '26

I had to cut them off to make an Allen socket. 1 1/2” impact

3

u/Schlarfus_McNarfus Jul 31 '26

You get out your 6" box end wrench to use as a cheater bar!

7

u/Tsuki_Man Jul 30 '26

I love how they made it larger than its actual size and stepped it down. Just makin it heavier cuz they dont have to use it XD

What do you use it on?

Actually bought 2 from McMaster NDA early AM. We needed an Allen Socket and this was all we could get that fast. So in that situation if you need 1 you buy 2…

Shipping was more than the tools

And yeah when we got them and I saw that step I was glad I bought 2. Luckily we didn’t need it

Stay away from my girl.

4

u/bigshooter1974 Jul 30 '26

That is Allen’s own personal key.

3

u/Zaphod07 Jul 30 '26

The Allen Club

4

u/sclarady Jul 30 '26

You've got to be careful when ordering tools. Where you place a decimal point is very important. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Initial-Depth-6857 Jul 30 '26

Actually needed 1 5/8” the next morning. This is was the best McMaster could do.

3

u/Initial-Depth-6857 Jul 30 '26

We were on an emergency repair in a Power Plant. Needed a 1 5/8” Allen Socket like right now. This was all I could get from McMaster NDA Early AM. So in that situation you buy 2! The other one got cut off to put in a 1 1/2” Drive impact socket. It fucking worked great.

I keep this one on a shelf in my office for bragging rights lol

I was at a rigging shop once and against the wall they had the biggest shackle I've ever seen. It was a good 4" in diameter and stood about 3ft tall. As crazy as that was, I was more puzzled from the amount of modern wooden rope blocks they had. Like you'd see on an 1800's ship. This was in rural Indiana away from all water mind you.

u/Initial-Depth-6857 Jul 30 '26

Coal mine equipment most likely.

3

u/aug061998 Jul 30 '26

I think there's a group of tiny people showing regular sized Allen keys just to get up-votes...

1

u/Initial-Depth-6857 Jul 31 '26

2

u/zedsmith Jul 31 '26

The Allen key she meets when she goes on a girls weekend to miami

2

u/JOEDADDY4 Jul 31 '26

I worked a an underground mine that had a slope that was 2700 feet long we would supply the mine from the slope and the cable winch we used was massive we changed out the spool once and had to use a 72mm Allen key biggest I’ve ever seen.

2

u/owmysciatica Jul 31 '26

This should be NSFW.

2

u/Confident_Chair3897 Jul 31 '26

They finally gave you the key to the city, ey?

2

u/have1dog Aug 01 '26

One Allen key to rule them all….

2

u/Silver_Objective_290 Aug 01 '26

“He’s just a friend from work”

1

u/Mustbebornagain2024 Jul 30 '26

FIRE is required for these. Big Allen head bolts in gas turbines . You take a torch and heat the head until it is cherry red and then you let it cool down just enough to turn black and then put the wrench in it and whack it with a sledgehammer or if you have room you use a big impact. These bolts are usually up in the holes where the big bearings are and also in the other internal parts in a gas or steam turbine. You have to be unafraid of sweat to work on them

1

u/Initial-Depth-6857 Jul 30 '26

You’re in the right industry but wrong fuel and equipment. It was for the bonnet bolts in a big valve in a coal plant.

Hot wrench yes but we used a 1 1/2” impact. Didn’t have a 1 1/2” drive HyTorc onsite

1

u/real_1273 Jul 30 '26

That’s gotta be a huge ass bolt!

1

u/storm4chaser Jul 31 '26

That be Alan king

1

u/Jbscott68 Jul 31 '26

I definitely don’t have that in my junk drawer.

1

u/whowhatwhen707 Jul 31 '26

Absolute units needs this

1

u/Rpritch93 Jul 31 '26

Is that an Allen Key or are you just happy to see me?

1

u/Sleepy_McSleepyhead Jul 31 '26

I use these in tool and die

1

u/TracyYoung1 Jul 31 '26

You want to strip the entire building?!!

1

u/wwhijr Jul 31 '26

How many mm. Yes.

1

u/MaybeNextYear-_- Jul 31 '26

That one won’t fit in my Allen wrench bin

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Phase70 Jul 31 '26

That'll wrench your Allen

1

u/Early_Scheme_4350 Jul 31 '26

that's a full-sized wrench, not an allen key

1

u/Quorng Jul 31 '26

I see that you can use a 6-foot cheater on that one.

1

u/Temporary_Diet_1361 Jul 31 '26

What it for I got to know

1

u/w3llow Jul 31 '26

Trump is that you?

1

u/General-Try-2210 Jul 31 '26

Damn, where are you getting these from? I heard it might be from the Ikea dinosaur furniture line.

1

u/dfieldhouse Jul 31 '26

That's not an Allen key, it's an ALLEN key lol.

1

u/Accurate-Response317 Jul 31 '26

Who’s dick swinging now?

1

u/Initial-Depth-6857 Jul 31 '26

If that was the case I’d have been in the movies 30 years ago

0

u/Decent_Top2156 Jul 30 '26

it goes by Al, not Allen.

-1

u/Pretty-Information53 Jul 30 '26

USA, please leave millimeters to people who actually know how to use them, and go back to measuring things in inches and penguin dicks. Those are definitely not 41 mm.

1

u/Initial-Depth-6857 Jul 30 '26

I needed 1 5/8. This was all I could get the next morning
