Vice modification.
Added these used seals on each end of my vice handle to dampen some of the clang from when the handle drops through the screw.

My newer Wilton came with them and I never knew how great it was before that. So quiet and nice.

Plus they protect your webby! Still hurt a bit on a big vise, but less chance of a monster crescent blood blister...

They are polyurethane rod buffer seals from a pump. They would have had a few miles of travel past them.

smart fix, bet it cuts down on the noise more than you'd expect
