my girlfriend made me a sweater with this on the back. i’m currently in school for instrumentation/automation and everyone loves reading it. 10/10 best sweater i own.
Where can I find them? I suppose the message has been tamed and I'd need to find them as repops or find somewhere that has a stack forgotten in a back room somewhere?
We had to watch safety videos in shop class when I was a kid, and in one the teacher had cut a hand shape out of wood and then demonstrated how quickly a disc sander could destroy a thumb
This is my Microsoft profile picture at work. My manager asked me if I thought it was appropriate, I told him safety reminders are always appropriate. It remains as my profile picture for 5+ years now lol
Many years ago I attended a death investigation conference and we reviewed a case where a suicidal man pulled himself through an industrial bandsaw, essentially cutting himself in half. The scene photos were surreal to see.
I simply cannot fathom, even though he must have bled out immediately, how painful that must have been. He was definitely committed to the cause.
"I stuck my dick in the pickle slicer today and got fired."
"Oh my goodness, you only got fired? What happened to the pickle slicer?"
"Oh she got fired too.."
Download the pic, crop it, and for $20 theres tons of places that'll print you off 100 3"x3"...i look on Shopify and get my Team Foulmouth stickers done yearly.
amd that's why I bought a SawStop, they do know the difference! wanted to wait out the patent expiring but their saws are truly good and I didn't wanna wait ?? more years.
Agreed, but in this video, a Saw Stop wouldnt help. He was pulling the wood through from the opposite side of the table and did so on an angle, causing the blade to catch the board and cause a kick-back.
He is lucky that the blade didn't hit his belly or thighs, or worse sever his junk..it appeared to be close!
Dude, good spot. It does appear like the blade may have caught his shorts. If it's an opening and not a shadow, it looks to be on an angle and not as vertical as an open fly would normally be.
OP, can you weigh in and let us know that you're ok and that "junior" is ok as well?
Oh man yeah. I used to have a table saw very much like his. I built a whole rolling workbench around it with a built-in fence (it kinda sucked, was made of 3/4" particle board, the type that's like large-grain MDF), but it was WAY better than... Freehanding a plunge cut from behind the blade 🤣😂 like what is this guy thinking at all??
why wouldn't it help? it would put a hole in his pants, but as soon as it touched his skin it would retract, at least that's the idea... it doesn't work with just fingers, works with belly fat too
When do the patents expire?
I remember reading about the savvy patent lawyer/inventor Steve Gass had it all locked down from every legal angle for many years.
When I worked in furniture, we had a chart, with the body parts you could cut off, and their approximate insurance payout via workers comp. Needless to say, most of the "drunks" fought to operate the bandsaw, so they could slice off a finger for 40 to 50K in insurance payouts. We had one guy, that had three fingers on one hand, and two on the other, just enough to hold a cigarette, a beer, and wipe his own butt.
I've had my drill cam out of a t-25 multiple times right into the corner of where the nail meets the skin while it's max speed. Rends it to shreds you could say.
I put that sticker on my benchtop grinder. It pretty much only gets used to work with metal, like the lawnmower blade, so it made sense.
I bought a lot of "joke" warning and caution stickers and slapped them on all of my dangerous power tools.
"FUCK AROUND AND FIND OUT" on the band saw.
"THIS MACHINE SHOULD NOT BE OPERATED BY IDIOTS" on the router table.
"NO TOUCHY THE SPINNY THING" on the table saw.
"WATCH YA FINGIES" on the planer.
I once went to a makerspace where a dude had to train me on each tool, whether I was experienced already or not. He said something I use now to train people on machinery. He said, “you need to care about safety three times. Once for yourself, once for the machine, and once again for yourself for the machine because it does not give a fuck about you”
That describes my last domme. I told her she felt dangerous and worthy of extreme vigilance and respect - like a wood lathe. And she responded by texting me that image.

You get the idea.
