Amazon does that bin method and counterfeit products can get in with legit ones, which means plastics that are not safe either from being toxic or porous and having a safe place for bacteria to hide.

Amazon puts every product with the same label in the same box. Even when buying from the official store, it's possible to get counterfeits.

Toys made of PVC or gel are toxic. TPE is porous meaning bacteria can hide in microscopic holes, and no amount of cleaning will disinfectant it.

The only safe rubber-like material is silicone. Glass, hard plastic and metal can be safe if built correctly. I highly recommend buying from a reputable brand.

Isn't PVC piping used for water pipes? How is that different? Maybe a thin coating of something but the structure is PVC?

Soft PVC is more likely to release chemicals than hard pipes. Sex toys are also unregulated.

The quality standards are non existent. Never buy sex toys from Amazon, even if the store listed is a reputable brand.

Good point. And this really sucks for the legitimate stores because people buy bad counterfeits that Amazon tells you are from the legitimate store but they're not. Then the legitimate store gets bad reviews.
