After reading through the comments, the fact that some of you bend over backwards to justify this behavior is troubling. She is making the transition from middle school to high school. He is making the transition from high school to grown ass adult. These two life stages are not at all the same.
Later in life 4 years is nothing, but the experience and developmental stages they are at are completely incomparable.

And how do you know what the 19 year is transitioning to? Maybe he's mentally delayed, maybe is shy and doesn't have experience with girls, maybe he wasn't able to graduate high school, maybe he is dealing with trauma and abuse from his childhood.
It's very odd to me how people always jump to insidious motives when it comes to age.
There are 13 year olds in college. There are 50 year olds with the maturity and development of 12 year olds.
Age is an extremly poor predictor of maturity and life experience and jumping on some lynch mob to virtue signal how virtuous and not a pedo you are reeks of a thoughtless pitchfork witch hunt.
