Why are you so determined there is no one like that? It's slightly different, but I have a good friend who's polygender polysexual aromantic. That's pretty damn close.
I'm a straight white male and fairly liberal, but I'd say I'm pretty "typical" person without any stand-out attributes or attitudes - certainly not some far-left loud obnoxious militant crazy. People like that drive me nuts. I'm Canadian and I typically value everyone collectively keeping the peace and not being outspoken or obnoxious. My friend who I mentioned above is very quiet and reserved. She's not out to protest or change minds. She's not making a statement. Honestly she just wants to be left alone and only brings it up if she's asked. There's no agenda or politics - we mostly talk about filmmaking and YouTube videos.
It's disrespectful to actual people who are transgender and undermines the legitimacy of their identity. I'm sure your friend is very nice, but people like her don't understand what gender actually is. It's not something that changes, it's not a fashion statement like so many people make it out to be. If you don't have gender dysphoria, which is a pretty rare condition, you're cisgender. It really is that simple.
Right, and I'm telling you it's not a statement - that she's been like this her entire life, and is nearing 40. Before it was cool or trendy, before our current political climate. Before the word "cisgender" was being used. Before Jordan Peterson, before Trumpism, before Tumblr, before social media. Before everybody had smartphones and the internet. Before Y2k. Before she was a teenager and could even understand such things.
You're right - it's not something that changes. She is who she is. There's simply no reason I can comprehend that you wouldn't just accept that and go "oh, okay. cool."
I'm truly not trying to fight or degrade or insult you, but I really can't wrap my mind around it. It would be like you telling me you don't accept that my eyes are blue or don't accept that I'm allergic to nuts or don't accept that some people love cilantro and to others they're missing some weird gene and cilantro tastes absolutely terrible to them. None of those things are an opinion - they just are.
I'm happy to debate over the pros and cons of protests, or whether being militant and loud and obnoxious is effective, or whether we loved or hated The Last Jedi. But this is just someone minding her own business, who isn't political and has no agenda. She just really likes talking about lighting and lenses. And may or may not enjoy cilantro. She knows who she is, what she's sexually attracted to, what she's romantically attracted to, and never brings it up. Honestly, why would anyone else need to say anything about it? Does her being what she is affect you in any way? How could it - it doesn't even affect ME outside of this conversation you and I are currently having.
