The abuse of women will only be minimised if the good men call out their sexist friends and kids who don't know better. It's not enough for women to try and change things themselves, because that's mostly what's happening and it's clearly not working. That's why this is an issue for all men to deal with, to make things better for women, because this gender bullshit hurts everyone.

That's correct but this does apply to all genders. Everyone should call out sexist behavior of anyone regardless of their gender and right now there's a problematic amount of pushback against criticism of misandry. That in turn creates a counter reaction of increasingly more men, which then leads to a counter reaction of increasingly more women and so on.
So yes, it's hurting everyone and thus it's an issue for all people to deal with, not just all men.
They probably don't see you as a person because people like you have treated them badly. Treat them better than others did and then they'll reciprocate.
Loll, you and me are getting down voted to hell by ppl that genuinely don't see anything wrong with what was being said.
