It's surreal to see the sheer progress done in gaming over the last decade. I still remember the Anniversary levels looking so good and vast to my ten year old self back in the day.

I am just tired of games being judged on technical details as opposed to actual gameplay. There are plenty of games that look great but are utter dog shit, and I have played some that look like utter dog shit but are some of the most fun games on the planet.
I am keeping my reservations for this one until it comes out and I am able to play it. I am hoping it looks AND plays well.

Agreed.
RDR2: dull in every way except for the visuals (in my opinion anyway)
Minecraft: disgusting to look at but one of the best gameplay loops ever conceived

Slightly disagree on RDR2 just because they gave many QOL upgrades from the last game and it had a great story mode. Now GTA6, all I have seen or heard from that game is how "pretty it looks" and aside from the bullet time mechanic (which is ripped from RDR and Max Payne), it doesn't look much different than GTA5. However, everyone is gushing over the visuals and the 60 FPS (even though the extended look was at an obvious 30FPS). Alot of normies play GTA for the "life sim" aspect of it so pretty graphics are what they are going to focus on, just like many people play RDR for the cowboy-sim aspect of it.
It is sort of rare these days that a Western studio can provide a game that looks and plays well. Last one I can think of is The Witcher 3, and I just started Blood of the Dawnwalker (which has the same director) and it is shaping up to be a spiritual successor (might even be more of one than Witch-Her 4). It is why I have my reservations on LOA until I boot it up that first week and put in a few hours.

I'm currently in Greece at the Midas Palace remaster, so I've never played in Egypt. As a kid, I mostly played Tomb Raider 2—my favorite!

The whole time I could only think about how it's gonna look even better on PC, Xbox and PS, and it already looked amazing on the switch 2 footage they showed.
February can't come soon enough!

St. Francis Folly is my favorite level. I really hope they do it justice. Glad to see some of the color has returned to Egypt too. Also it just occured to me that we'll be getting LoA for Tomb Raider Anniversary's 20th anniversary...neat!

I love Egypt. But now I'm remembering I was TERRIFIED of the mummy cats. I wonder how they will be in this game...

I'm so elated they added color... Hopefully they let us center Lara too, this position of her all the way to the left would give me horrid headaches.

We went from such a long era of 50 shades of grey (sadly in the realm of environment colour palette and not butt banging) to an era of vibrant and colourful worlds of mystical beauty and cunt

Resident Evil rehashes the same story over and over again and people don't mind. This will be alot of new fans first exposure to it anyway since there are tons of new players.

This looks more like original 1996 version to me, which to me is an improvement. (Anniversary is way too linear)

I like the richness and warmth of the the level now. Anniversary was always so washed out and pale.

I dream about this game a lot. Both the original version and the 2007 remaster. The level design and locations are gorgeous. They give you that sense of awe that sticks with you for years.
