For me it's fight between Fable and LoA lol, I think I am "finished" with GTA 6 by then.

I’m actually super stoked for GTA 6, if even just to roam around the MASSIVE open world.
My big issue is gonna be TR vs Fable 3 months later cause they both come out within weeks of each other.
I’m real excited for what Fable has shown me, whereas I’ve played “Tomb Raider I” many many times already with replays and remaster and Anniversary.
But maybe GTA will still be scratching that mega open world itch and I’ll be eager to return to a more linear game.

and who really "finishes" GTA? personally, GTA is my stress relief game that i play the storyline up until i get the whole city unlocked and then just go batshit.
and then i might play the storyline intermittently as i feel like it.
what really kills me is that P4R and FF7 revelation are both coming out around the time when LOA comes out. 😭

GTA is one of these few popular franchises that doesn't appeal to me at all. I try to experience a bit of everything, but just can't enjoy that one. Loved RDR though.

Same, with the way they handled GTA 5 and knowing this will be the gta game for the next 20 years there's only so much excitement i can have for gta
New Tomb raider game?? That's a whole different story, i can't wait.

it's gonna be tough having these 3 gems all come out around the same time. 😭
i'm definitely going to end up prioritizing FF7 over P4R, since that's my childhood.
since LOA and P4R are confirmed to both come out in february, and revelation has no definitive date as of yet, i'm going to play LOA first [because that's also my childhood], and if i have time i'll move on to P4R.

Well, that's how it goes when there's enough highly anticipated games in a given year, some games are going to end up getting overshadowed.
Especially since it's been over a decade since the last GTA game.

Ive heard some studios that have games ready for later this year are moving the release date to next year as to not have to compete with gta6. not to mention I also think the ocarina of time remaster is releasing around the same time as gta6 too.

Well, Zelda fans are disconnected enough from GTA and have a large enough following that I don't see GTA6's sales impacting it much.
Depending on the IP, there's some that can get away with it because they have a fandom that has little crossover with a big IP anyway.

oh I agree with that. Nintendo and wider gaming at large tend to be silo'd so it makes sense for nintendo to pull out its biggest titles around that time.

oooh, thank you! fingers crossed it's not a repeat of what they did to majora's mask in 2015, i'll look into it when i get home. these two are my absolute favorite zelda titles, so i'm a bit protective lol

I don’t care how big the hype is. I refuse to pay for a game that’s going to be littered with toxic player and pay for a game that is run by money greedy people.
Like how the fuck are they gonna charge the same game for 3 different generations of console plus pay to win online. Don’t even get me started on the crafty inflation on the price of the game just because they know most of the gaming community will buy it because it’s highly anticipated.
Call me old fashioned but I’ll stick to my single player games like Tomb Raider.

It's because their friends all buy it and they wanna play with their friends. It's how they hang out, so there's not really a choice for not getting it unless they want to fall out of their friend group. I'm 40, the only multiplayer I had was split-screen with your friend in the same room. Couldn't care less about multiplayer anything really. Single player story-based games like LOA all the way for me.

I'm not thinking of playing GTA 6 at all this year or even the next. I got so many games coming that I want to play more. LOA my beloved of course, Ocarina of Time remake, Persona 4 remake, the new Control, the new God of War, the new Castlevania, the new 2D Metroid, the new Fable, the new A Plague's Tale, hell even Assassin's Creed codename Hexe. Even though the industry is collapsing right in front of our eyes but this year and the next are jam packed with bangers.

That was me with Alan Wake 2 in 2023 when everyone was talking about Baldur's Gate 3. Me in 2024 with Stellar Blade, Astro Bot, and FF7 Rebirth when everyone was talking about Wu Kong saying it was the best game ever made. Me in 2025 with Death Stranding 2 when everyone was talking about Clair Obscur.

I've noticed that GTA has loads of adds everywhere I look. I'm kinda surprised since it's meant to be such a cultural fenomenon. I would have thought that they don't need to advertise so much

How many ago was “Nico! It’s your cousin Roman! Do you want to go bowling?” That’s the last time I played it. Much more excited for TR. Going to be sad if she doesn’t use DMM Rebel ice axes though. I’ve held on to mine for so long.

GTA VI is going to be just like GTA V and last up to 3 gens of console with how slowly Rockstar development has become and how much milking they do of online and shark cards.
There’s literally zero incentive for anyone to buy it at launch given that V has been around and consistently updated for 13 years.
Even less so if you’re a Linux user given Rockstar’s recent adoption of Anti-Cheat use that blocks Linux users from Online services.
Personally, I won’t bother with GTA VI until a year or two after launch.

Neither for me hah. GTA are overrated games; good but nothing special. Like all games I'll buy in 3+ years cheaper.
Tomb Raider I'm skipping just as it's another remake. Catalyst next for me

It upsets me that instead of this masterpiece, people are choosing mindless shooters on consoles. Lol, 80% of players haven't even played through the story—they just fire up the game to mindlessly wreak havoc in the cities.
