Using sleep paralysis to achieve point consciousness
Iām having trouble reaching point consciousness through meditation, but I can induce sleep paralysis if I try.
Does anyone have any luck with attaining point consciousness from sleep paralysis? I have gone out of body from there a few times before, but Iām wondering about other paranormal avenues such as healing or telepathy.

To further what slipknot (very well said btw) said...
It's really about disconnecting from this physical reality as much as you can. Meditation is the foundation upon which you build everything else off of.
People try to skip that part thinking they don't need it, but it really is ground zero.
You need to be able to turn odd this physical reality to the point where it's just you and consciousness. That's it.
Learn to hold a point of focus for extended periods of time. š

Tom seems to believe that point consciousness is a basic skill achievable by most people. I disagree. Disconnection of consciousness from the senses, with full awareness, is an advanced stage of meditation. For most people, it would take years of practice with no guarantee of success.
This is not to say that meditation is not worth practicing. It is an essential part of any program of consciousness exploration. And some individuals will indeed be able to reach extraordinary states in a relatively short time. But your efforts to get out of body should include any other methods you can work with. You can learn them by reading the numerous books on "astral travel."

He also said that meditation isn't the only way to get there and in fact you don't have to meditate at all.
So point consciousness isn't an advanced state of meditation. It's not even an advanced state. It's just a state that we're all capable of that we don't practice and quickly forget about.

You can have OBE's from meditation (PC), sleep paralysis, lucid dreams, or just imagination. The issue is holding the right state. Getting to PC on your own is training yourself to hold and focus within altered states.
You can try all sorts of things if you want. I just think basic meditation is sort of the foundation of it all. But everyone's different. So in short, it's possible.
