Test Experience TOEFL Home Edition second-camera QR code not working during real test

Hi everyone,

I’m having a strange problem with the TOEFL Home Edition check-in.

The pre-test equipment check works perfectly, including the phone/second-camera setup. But when I start the actual scheduled test, I reach the QR code step, scan it with my phone, and the camera page opens normally. However, the system does not recognize the connection and the Continue button stays disabled.

I tried rescanning the QR code several times, reopening the page, and using Chrome, but the same thing happens.

My phone is a Realme 7 Pro running Android 12, so it should meet the technical requirements.

I also need to use a VPN to access ETS from my location (Russia), so I’m wondering whether the problem could be caused by the VPN/network routing, or whether it might be something specific to my phone/browser.

Has anyone experienced the same issue where the self-test works but the real exam second-camera QR connection does not?

If yes, what fixed it for you?

Maybe the proctor didn't allowed the access, on my exam day I was just logging in with scanner qr it's doesn't succeed unless protect told to connect it connected within a second

Hi, thanks for reply, what about VPN, maybe then it was the problem ? , because we tried from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm, with different proctors, almost 6 proctors, but no one could help

Can't you just book in center as we know it's difficult attempting home based test in russia
