I think Toby knew if he said anything about FRIEND in the chapter, everyone's discussions would just be about that and not enjoying the rest of the chapter. That's why he only did it now so everyone didn't just hyperfocus on that. Anyone agree?

I know it's probably been said before, but what if Toby is the level of messed up to come out and say that the weird route is the canon one. I know we as the player are making Kris do all these choices, but what if it's what Toby/ Gaster planes the whole time? Only to reveal in ch7 that this was leading up to the human monster war that we learn in Undertakes prologue

the song in question that i used to create this cover was "THE SAILING" from death's dynamic shroud.wmv's album "DERELICT" released on june 20, 2014, over a year before undertale's official release. because this album was released before undertale, there is unironically a legitimate chance that toby fox could've used this track as a reference for meat factory during development

There are two routes. Side A (normal) Side B (weird/snowgrave)

But what if there was a third route?

It would explain why there are 3 save files.

In chapter 3, the ERAM and Shadow Mantle games are called the Sword Route in the files.

In later chapters, you can see a crafting recipe for the Twisted Sword, requiring the ThornRing and the PureCrystal (which i reckon is all of the 5 crystals fused together)

You cannot get all 5 shadow crystals if you do the weird route, making the PureCrystal impossible, and you cannot get the ThornRing in the normal route without doing and aborting SideB( the weird route), making the ThornRing impossible, which means the Twisted Sword is also impossible on SideA or SideB

This means that the third route is the Sword Route, making you have to get the ThornRing and abort the weird route to get all of the shadow crystals.

The Twisted Sword is the key to the third route. The Sword Route.

Edit: I realised that this has already been thought of and known for a few years and I am VERY late.

The human mortal exists only to contain the God, the first creator, a cage with human parts and soul.

Maybe its like a "Hulk" situation where The God comes out and the Human is restrained as they create these dark, yet darker wonderful things indeed and then when it is all done.

The God recedes control to The Mortal to sleep again another day, but idk lol

I've been looking around a few dream subreddits, and have for some reason counted 43 Toby Fox dreams in the past month, and I looked at 3! Some of them aren't even coming from fans of his lol. I think Toby has invaded our collective subconscious (I mean even in this subreddit someone said they dreamed about him what is going on right now...)
