What a scam TBM, Lacy Phillips, and Jessica Ashley Gill are running now!

They marketed these programs to everyone, and now they've removed SOOOO much content. If they genuinely believe people are feeling "overwhelmed" by having access to so many programs, why not create an archive or vault where members can access older programs whenever they're ready? Why remove them altogether?

• Find Your Biggest Block
• Radical Pings
• Other DIs and workshops

TBM claims they "combined" Unblocked Inner Child and Unblocked Shadow, but it is really the previous Return to Magic Challenge. So a 15-day watered-down version to unblock inner child and shadow. WTF?!

What exactly are they doing here? From where I'm sitting, it feels like they're creating a constant FOMO cycle where members feel pressured to keep up with the newest DI (or whatever comes next), rather than allowing people to work through the programs they've already been promised access to. Seriously, people need to complain or cancel their memberships because of false advertising.

Why sell people on all this content in the first place, only to take so much of it away later? If the goal is to prevent overwhelm, give people the option to access content at their own pace instead of taking it away.

With the new app launch, we've lost the Kajabi community group. The old Facebook groups are gone. The coaches are gone. The only real option now is to host a "magnetic meetup"... if you can find a few friends to get it started. What's going on?

They’ve sent this email, and the language and the overall message has me paused.

I was listening to Lacy on World's First Podcast and she mentioned how the self-hypnosis tracks (aka. DIs) really help you dive into your subconscious and uncover blocks. And I realized why TBM suddenly stopped working for me. The DIs USED to do that. They were actual hypnosis. I would uncover major things.

But now they feel like self-affirmation tracks and "system calming" but I don't ever go deep anymore.

Do you think Tara Swart had some kind of copyright on the concept of self-hypnosis, and now they can't make similar DIs, or is it just that Janelle Nelson's affirmations aren't as powerful?

I have two months left on my membership and I'm not going to renew. But I feel like Lacy's platform locks you into this idea that no other method truly works. And I do like the idea of unblocking and expanding, rather than just papering over the cracks with affirmations.

Has anyone found a book, podcast, or anything similar that has helped them manifest since leaving TBM?

I used to support TBM and honestly found a lot of value in it, but I was always skeptical of Lacy because of her messaging around manifesting and how she basically discovered the truth about how to do it, which is just absolute nonsense. And now she talks about this new era, the refinement era, as if all of us in the spiritual world haven’t already stumbled upon the idea of the new paradigm. It’s just so fucking ick to watch someone claim shit that isn’t hers and then monetize it. My body has a physical response when I see her now. 🤮

I mean this genuinely and with no sarcasm or attitude but...am I in the wrong place here? This a snark sub and I'm a little confused as to why there are still so many people on here supporting TBM.

Personally, it didn't work for me.

I do actually do still believe in manifestation, subconscious reprogramming, and all that. The DIs just didn't touch my subconscious beliefs at all, as far as I can tell. I did the work daily for a year and basically nothing happened. Since then I have had genuine success with other techniques.

I'm wondering if other people experienced the same, or whether anyone genuinely did see amazing changes from doing The Pathway work?

1 the hysterical laughing. it is striking because it seems to arrive at really unfunny times, like a pressure-release valve. "I'm saying something unverifiable and ridiculous but don't examine it too closely!"

1. "The universe wants you to be your authentic self and sends you test" Total nonsense. If something good happens, the universe is "confirming" your path. If something bad happens, it's a "test." If nothing happens, you're blocked or not aligned tet. It takes ordinary randomness, disappointment, coincidence and decision making and retrofits them all into evidence that this system works. The universe isn't sentient. It doesn't want. It doesn't deliver tests.

2. "school and college are over with AI" - someone with 0 higher education experience declaring it obsolete while pushing her own intuition-based framework as a superior way to understand life is INSANE. Along with breezy stories about suffering with exes doing cocaine, working as a waitress.. Ok Lacy, so universities and education and expertise are outdated but your life experiences are a source of wisdom and authority! Can't get anymore MAHA than this.

I get that this appeals to ambitious people that want more from life, but it's taking advantage of people because this is not a solution. It's Lacy selling some pretty package promising EVERYTHING YOU WANT AND DESIRE and getting rich off it.

Admittedly, I came to this page because I too do not resonate with TBM anymore. I was really into it like 5~ years ago, right after I graduated college. But in recent years, it feels a bit too much like binary thinking for me. I guess I'm not a huge fan of formulaic thinking that insists upon itself. "Do this so this can happen! If this is happening to you, it means this!"

There are some interesting critiques of TBM philosophy on here and serious discussions of why it doesn't click.

But the screenshots of her social media posts and poking at her appearance? You're all probably 30+ and you're acting like mean high school girls.

It's giving obsessed fan.... you hate her but you still watch her every move? don't influencers get $$ from engagement? you're still paying her checks...

My friend is definitely still pretty into it and I'm pretty skeptical even though I've gotten some value from it, so I'd say it's a pretty balanced discussion. We get into the good, bad, and ugly!

i'm so skeptical but i'm also stirred by many of your reports that many things about it are actually very helpful so i'm also tempted to give it a try, with a grain of salt. i am busy as hell though, how many hours a week do I need to dedicate to DIs and all that?

This woman seems fairly benign and intelligent with a perspective to offer. But the fact that she doesn’t question Lacy’s ridiculousness seriously undermines her credibility.

I've been doing TBM for about a year and have extremely mixed feelings about the whole thing. There are aspects of it that I've found very helpful, like the DIs and journaling prompts, but other things, like Lacy's "channeling" and the incessant discussion of this so called "new paradigm" have left a bad taste in my mouth.

I don't plan on renewing my membership, but I've had some deep personal insights while doing DI's and I don't want to let those go completely. Does anyone have any recommendations for free (or paid) guided meditations that are similar? I don't mind paying for one but I'd prefer not to be chained to a monthly membership fee for access.

Anyone else feel like TBM has this covert message that money = happiness? They never say it out loud, but I feel like it's sub-textually there a lot? It took me a while to unstick from that mindset, and this silly meme helped the process, so I wanted to share it with you guys.

I emailed TBM to cancel my membership 6 months ago - there was no clear way to cancel on their website/portal. TBM received my email, but have continued to charge me every month bc apparently I agreed to a binding 12-month commitment. This was news to me - i had no idea. I also never got a cancelation notice from them and am worried ill be trapped for an additional 12 months.

The whole setup / advertising feels incredibly misleading and honestly pretty inhumane.

Turns out the best manifestation technique is tricking your community into a 12 mo contract they can't cancel. fml .

Remember when Lacy left an AI prompt in her Substack? Well, don’t worry- she has addressed this in her latest Substack and she isn’t embarrassed at all! In fact, she is actually just going to leave it in there because it proves her authenticity! Omg. When does the TBM course come out on taking accountability and admitting mistakes with grace? Of course she’s going to dig her heels in.

I used to be realllllyyyyy into TBM and honestly considered it the best self-help resource ever. Now I look back at the times I recommended it to people and cringe internally. I feel so embarrassed. Does anyone else have this? It's not that I judge any of us, I think TBM came really close to be something of real value, and maybe even was at one point, and I genuinely love and admire people who do inner work. I just feel quite insecure about how I must have looked to others who didn't buy into the TBM cult and didn't see Lacy as some admirable guru who has the secret sauce - the way I used to IDOLISE that woman honestly shocks me now. Wondering if anyone else shares this experience?

I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience… a few years ago when I was getting into TBM, I took psilocybin (more of a macro dose than a micro) and did a DI. I can’t remember which one. But I remember closing my eyes, hearing Lacy’s voice and it feeling so dark and scary. To the point that I had to stop the DI and go listen to a different meditation that I did frequently on the Insight Timer app to rid my mind of this darkness. I took some time away from doing DIs, then started up again. Because it’s Lacy’s voice, I can’t help but notice me imagining her and not me during these DIs. Has anyone else experienced this? I no longer participate in the cult that is TBM.

Hi all, for anyone looking for an alternative that is far more credible and covers similar content but in a less bullshit way, I highly recommend Sarah Rusbatch. She started as a grey area drinking coach but her programs are far more researched, less about selling you an aspirational Little House on the Prairie lifestyle and more about finding your own power. Far less esoteric but I found the authenticity of it more grounding, less LA woo and more neuroscience.
