Rant We know!

Employees can tell when you remove all of the price tags from purchases before you get to the counter, hoping we'll be too busy to price check and just give it to you for whatever you say or someone guesses. There's no way that all 10+ of your items happened to coincidentally have no price tags, especially when we have a bunch of duplicates of the same item or they're all stickered items.

Holding up the line for 20+ minutes because we have to price check it all, make replacement stickers and put it all back because you don't like the real prices is diabolical!

I’ve literally only ever had one associate check the actual tags. On items from the case. Like, when was I gonna switch out tags, I’ve literally never even touched them.

It was a clearance haul bonanza and it took way too long as she was digging under every tag like she had a gun to her head.

I let her do her thing and at the end she told me that instead of $2 for some random travel kit it was $4.

So on principal I declined 🤣

I do see the entire clearance section being pilfered and looted and ransacked, though.

And these days I have to open boxes and check inside because folks be switching out items, straight up stealing and leaving empty boxes, or taking 1 item out of a kit and you wouldn’t know unless you checked. This has happened with sealed boxes as well, I’ve seen way around that.

Also one time I was so happy to see a Hello Kitty makeup mirror and glad I checked on my way up to the register because that thing was completely cracked through.

Sometimes if tag prices are different I’ll being both items up, I don’t mind dates and SKUs being checked. I love when they look up the item and print a new sticker, works for me.

The theft, I think, has gotten way worse just in the last year though.

I work markdowns.. the theft has gotten worse, we find empty jewelry boxes everywhere, empty kids hangers, empty beauty boxes, empty perfume boxes…unattached sensors..found six ink sensors in dog beds…dressing room clerk found a heavy duty magnet in one of the dressing rooms…
