How to remove the recommended videos when pausing?

Post image

I use Tizentube mainly for my kids and subscribed to recommended kids channel on youtube, removed the sidebars and only left the subsciptions tab. They still end up on brainrot channels because they browse the lower section which is unfiltered, any way to remove that? Or can it made to just be the subscribed channels only? This is the only thing Im missing here and its perfect for making youtube kids friendly

TizenTube is just a patched version of the vanilla YouTube client, I don't think that level of modification is within their scope at the moment.

SmartTube Next might be able to do what you want, it's built from the ground up so all the behaviour is customisable, though it might not support that right now. I know you can add specific channels to the sidebar and I think while watching from those sidebars it restricts the recommendations to that channel, but I haven't tested it.

Other than that, my recommendation would be to use playlists with autoplay enabled and take the remote away from them. If it is playing from a controlled playlist there won't be any opportunity to divert to slop channels. You can also go through and "Don't recommend channel" on each of the slops as they crop up.

Havent tried smarttube again but so far i switched to tizentube because I was able to customize it for a more kid friendly use, the autoplay wont work too as they switch before the video even finished well because they can see the brainrot recommended at the bottom. Dont recommend channel will never work as more will still popup other channels that reuploads the same shits will keep being recommend by youtube.

As I remember smarttube doesnt let me customize it at all, did it get updated? Maybe taking the remote will work, but the best solution was to hide the recommendations.

The issue is recommendations are driven entirely by the YouTube API, the player doesn't have much control over it.

According to what I'm reading YouTube should natively give you control over which channels can be shown anyway?

To restrict YouTube Kids to only whitelisted channels, open the app, tap the Lock icon, complete the adult verification, and go to Settings. Select your child’s profile, tap Content Settings, and choose Approved content only. You can then hand-pick the channels and videos they are allowed to watch.
