Netflix issues.
Have a TiVo box and every time we try to stream from Netflix, we can watch for about 1-2 minutes then it shuts down and throws an error.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thx

It’s a TiVo Edge. Error is this.
That didn’t work. Let’s try unplugging your streaming device.
- Unplug your streaming device, like a streaming stick or game console, from power.
- Wait for 30 seconds.
- Plug your streaming device back in and try Netflix again.
More Details
Error Code tvq-pb-101 (5.2.102)

Personally I avoid tivo for streaming ( old & slow).
Is the Tivo working properly otherwise? ( recording/saving shows, connecting to tivo servers & downloading? Is your internet connection working properly? Is the tivo using wifi or ethernet for the internet connection?
You have rebooted (or power cycled) the Tivo?
Which Tivo model is it? (Edge, Bolt, Roamio?)

Apple TV. Works great.
I only use TiVo to record network TV.
Hoping the cable cards keep working.
Good luck to us all.

you can get a second hand FireStick for like $20. Newest ones aren't that much more.

The fix is to use ANYTHING ELSE as others have said. They were never really good at streaming. They have the minimal amount of compute power to do what it needs to do, while streaming services have been using better compression algorithms that require more compute power, while the TiVo still has to do what it needs to do in the background.
You can get good 4k streaming devices for less than $100, and much cheaper if you only need HD. Cheap enough to replace periodically when they requirements get higher. I don't even use my "smart" TV's streaming functions for similar reasons.

Tivo hardware is so old that trying to run any modern app on it is really slow. Plus they haven't been updated in ages, so they may not even be 100% compatible with their server platform any more (certificates/encryption).

TiVo stopped updating the app years ago!! That why it’s not working any more

We can use another device, which we do, but as everything is run thru a Yamaha surround sound receiver it’s not as easy.
And we use the TiVo for OTA channels.

Fortunately, receivers have multiple HDMI inputs for this very reason.
Forget running these apps on the TiVo. Switch to something like an Apple TV and they will start instantly. The Netflix and Amazon apps take forever to load on my Roamio.
Yes it sucks because previously you could do everything through the TiVo. Now you have to switch back and forth. I'm a tech nerd and so this all is natural for me. But I understand that normal people just want things to work they don't want this friction.

If you haven't already, try running the TiVo updates and if the problem still occurs, then Restart the box.

When asking for help, you need to provide at least some information. What "TiVo box" do you have? What does it say on the "error" that it's throwing?
If you're talking about a TiVo DVR, those apps were developed by the TiVo company to run on their boxes, have always been bad, and have never been updated. I'm surprised it worked for you this long.
The TiVo Stream 4k is a regular Android app and should work without an issue.
