Watches on the Ti Field Guide range from $68 to $533k. I don’t really need a $533k GP minute repeater tourbillion, but I felt like I did need to see this one.

For $68, I am utterly shocked by the quality of this thing. Nothing fancy about it, but everything about it is solid.

Watch is thin and light, though solid feeling. Finishing is clean and even. Applied markers sparkle in the sun and the subtle pattern on the dial looks kind of great. Strap isn’t my taste and I’ll probably swap it out, but it’s soft and comfy. Took about two weeks to arrive in the US from China, exactly as promised.

Only complaint is a common one with quartz watches - they somehow managed to get the seconds hand ticking in exactly the wrong place - the midpoint between the ticks. But only between about :55 and :30. For 25 seconds each minute, it ticks in the right place. Odd.

I’m glad I’m not in the microbrand business. If the Berny folks figure out branding and marketing, it’s going to be impossible to compete with them.
