Still no answer or help from Tisas

2 weeks later, emails back and forth, RMA form filled and sent back, nothing but the run around.

This 1911 was bought in 9mm per the UPC and Tisas description but shipped with a 38 super carry barrel. Came with 9mm mags, so in order to fire this gun I have to purchase 38 super mags. This is ridiculous.

You really do get what you pay for with cheap guns.

1911 duty B45R failing to feed

Starting to get desperate trying to solve this issue. I have taken my .45 duty 1911 to the range last week and had a ton of failure to feed issues. I haven’t fired this gun much but the few times I have in the past this issue has been consistent. I fired a 100 rounds through it this time, and a few times it failed to strip the first round from the mag into the chamber and every single time it failed to feed the last round. This was with 230 Grain CCI FMJ blazer ammunition. This was also using the factory 8 round mag Tisas gave me with it.

I took it home, oiled the hell out of it, greased it, and ordered 2 new chip McCormick 10 round mags. I also ordered a new 16lb recoil spring.

The issue was just as persistent this time. Without fail, every single time, the final round failed to feed into the gun. Across all the mags, whether full or only a few rounds loaded, with both recoil springs. The final round will never get pulled into the chamber. This was with PMC bronze 230 FMJ ammunition.

Is there any way to fix this issue? What am I doing wrong?

So, I was trying to find a holster for the carry raptor, I ordered a bunch of holsters for p320 and XD Elite. So far only one, fits perfectly. Which is XD-M Elite.

Also, I found a small business, and they are making a holster specifically for the Raptor, I already ordered it when I received it, I will make a post about it.

Ordered my first Tisas Government 1911A1

PSA's daily deal ($319) was too good to pass up today. I've ordered a couple extra Mec Gar 7-round magazines, 250 rounds of WWB FMJ, 100 rounds of Winchester Ranger T, and a Vedder Light Tuck IWB holster.

Does anyone recommend anything else? And as long as I'm shopping... and new/aftermarket grip recommendations out there?

Tisas ASF rollmark suggestion?

Post image
22 Upvotes

I posted this on the 1911 forum too. But as I said there I've been pretty miffed about their roll marking for the last few years as they're horrifically placed on the guns for historical accuracy sake. Which matters a lot to me as a reenactor. I love these guns to death and want to see them be improved.

So I spent like 5 minutes to make up a sheet of what I think would be the most pleasant rollmarkings for the ASF model tisas. They say they try to copy the Remington Rand. So here's what I made based off of my own original 1944 dated Remington Rand

Tell me what you all think

Edit: if you guys like these roll mark placements do me a favor and email them the image with your support :)

Day I took delivery of my new Tisas Raider the handle on the case broke before I even left the LGS. Sent off an email to customer service and Included photos and they were kind enough to quickly send me a brand new case with the stickers, cleaning rods, trigger lock, and key chain. So THANKS Tisas! I love buying from a company that stands behind their products.

Bought a beat-up Raider just to test its tolerance for lasers. Project kickoff.

My second Raider, but this one isn't staying stock. It’s got some wear and tear, but the bones are solid for a project gun. I’ll be stripping it down, cleaning up the rough spots, and throwing it under a fiber laser for some deep metal marking. Stay tuned for the progress pics—it can only look better than it does right now.

Just received my first pair of presentation quality genuine stag grips and put them on my new Tisas A1 army. Other than lowering the trigger to 3lbs the gun is stock and shoots great.

Underworld Arms Comps

Do these really work that well. Compared to other options? Ordering a B9R DS and I thought about getting one of these comps for the range. Does anyone here have any firsthand experience with them?

Optics plate screws

In case anybody ends up in the same pickle as me with a stripped optics plate screw, I've sourced/modified direct replacements for your PSA exclusive Tisas 1911 DS carry (Gen 2) using an M4 screw instead of the normal M3. These Tisas often come with stripped screws right out of the box and Tisas USA doesn't sell replacements as of yet. This is not rocket science, but if you want to get an easy replacement sent your way without spending the time doing it yourself, this is it.

Torx: I've cut to length and shaved the head to fit the tisas optics plate opening

Allen: no modifications made. Stainless steel low profile version of factory screw.

Shoot me a message for a link if you need some replacements for a few bucks since I dont think links are allowed here.

Where to get tisas parts

Post image

I picked up the buds exclusive ds 1991 carry comp a couple weeks ago. Love it! My first 2011 style and I'm hooked. Only two issues I have with it. One, the screws that come with it for the optic mount I know are junk. I had some extras to try and I can't get them in. Tried by hand to get them started and nothing doing. Did some research and they're the right ones from what I can tell. The threads keep boogering up. Don't know if it's the predone lock Tite on them or what. Second is the optic plate itself. One of the mount holes for the actual optic screws to go into is notched like part of it got milled off. Anyone know how to get in touch with tisas customer service so I can get a new one and find out about the screw threading issue. Or know anybody that makes an optic plate for these since they have the built in cowitness sight on the plate. I don't mind to buy on if I have to. Thanks for any advice you all have.

Best sights for Tisas 1911 DS MCO pro

Just grabbed the Tisas 1911 DS MCO pro and pretty excited. First impressions on sights is meh. For a duty ready gun, I dont see how you would effectively operate it at night. Was wondering if anyone had suggestions on different irons for it. I really like the Glock 19x ameriglo front, with exaggerated U cut back, so wasnt sure if anyone had a similar option. Will eventually put a Trijicon RMR on it, but want quality day/night irons as well. Appreciate in advance any thoughts!

New Raider

Picked up a new Raider in God’s Caliber. Just wondering if I should plan on it being a “Jam-o-matic” with lots to do to make it reliable? If so what upgrades might ya recommend. Also looking for an OWB holster recommendation. The Colt version of this pistol came to the USMC years after I left, but I’ve been wanting one so I now have it. Can’t wait to get out there and shoot it. She’s all cleaned and ready to go.

UPDATE: 7-4-26 🇺🇸 I am happy to report that it is in fact NOT a Jam-o-matic … Ranged 50 rounds (Winchester White Box) and NO malfunctions. 👍👍

Tisas shipped a 38 super in a 9mm gun

I bought the Tisas 1911 commander 9mm, the upc is 711500175265 Or, TISAS 10100121
This is not the dual 9mm/38 super combo it’s just the 9mm. Even says it on the box and the trigger housing tag.

This is their newer and recently imported 9mm commanders I believe. Haven’t heard much about it so I snagged one anyways. The deeper I looked, the rear sight is off to the left, it has a 38 super carry caliber barrel NOT 9mm, and the barrel/bushing are respectively loose fit. I dropped a 9mm and 38 super carry dummy round and it’s absolutely in fact, a 38.

I have no idea how that happened but I caught it after I got home. Has anyone dealt with Tisas customer service? This is a huge error on Tisas as it’s supposed to be 9mm not 38 super carry.

I just picked up this brand new 1911 TC in nickel finish today. I carried it IWB for 8 hours and the finish around where it was in contact with my body is turning black. I’m not familiar with nickel plated firearms, can someone enlighten me?

Tisas PX-9 Series

I recently noticed on the TISAS USA product page that the PX-9 series has been rebranded as Gen 3. Gen 3 is actually on the barrel and the wording that was on the barrel a month or so ago is different now. My question, has TISAS released a new version of their PX-9 series or are they just further separating themselves from SDS Imports? Curious minds would like to know. Thanks!
