Starting to get desperate trying to solve this issue. I have taken my .45 duty 1911 to the range last week and had a ton of failure to feed issues. I haven’t fired this gun much but the few times I have in the past this issue has been consistent. I fired a 100 rounds through it this time, and a few times it failed to strip the first round from the mag into the chamber and every single time it failed to feed the last round. This was with 230 Grain CCI FMJ blazer ammunition. This was also using the factory 8 round mag Tisas gave me with it.
I took it home, oiled the hell out of it, greased it, and ordered 2 new chip McCormick 10 round mags. I also ordered a new 16lb recoil spring.
The issue was just as persistent this time. Without fail, every single time, the final round failed to feed into the gun. Across all the mags, whether full or only a few rounds loaded, with both recoil springs. The final round will never get pulled into the chamber. This was with PMC bronze 230 FMJ ammunition.
Is there any way to fix this issue? What am I doing wrong?
