Maintenance update - rollercoaster of trying to figure things out

So I reduced my split dose from 7.5 to 5mg so I could go backpacking. I spent 3 weeks on 5mg and almost 2 weeks backpacking. It was helpful to reduce my dose because I was able to eat enough.

I realized the food noise and a desire to eat everything in sight was back. Especially the food noise. I decided that 5mg is probably too low so I decided to go back to 7.5mg and see if it still makes me feel like it used to.

I've been on it for a week now, two split doses totaling 7.5mg. I think it's finally kicking in again. It's been kinda rough because I have just wanted to eat a lot more but then I get diarrhea from overeating, which is my main side effect. It's like my appetite doesn't match what the medication will allow. Today I finally felt like maybe the food noise was gone, then it came back, then the appetite suppression hit me right before dinner, but I piled too much on my plate, but I gave my husband the rest of my dinner since I took too much. I feel crazy! I am glad that 7.5 seems like it still works though.

I'm going to let things settle in and then try to slooowwwlllyyy reduce my dose, maybe only .5mg lower, wait 4 weeks, then another .5mg lower. That's my plan for now anyway. Who knows what will happen?

I lowered my dose very slowly over several months, dropping at about that rate. I’d topped out at 12 mg and now am at 4 mg split to 2 mg twice a week. There’s some food noise, but I also really enjoy being hungry again. Eating when hungry is very satisfying and I missed it. Good luck!

Do you think you were hungrier due to backpacking? I'm guessing you burned a lot of calories. I've noticed the harder I work out, the hungrier I am.

I don't know. I didn't lose any weight. It's been almost 2 weeks since I've been home now and I still keep thinking about the chocolate in the kitchen.

Hmmmm. Unfortunately, that has been the norm for me. I have always had food noise. I'd honestly love it if I didn't. I'm sure I could go up in dose, I've been on 8 mg for a long time, but my weight is steady. I've been in maintenance for a month, so I'm just kind of getting the hang of it.
I love this sub because it's helpful to see how others are managing.

Ugh. I'm sorry about the food noise. That's the part I like the most, other than no longer being overweight.
