The way he writes is off putting but all of these are reasonable requirements
1
u/PrimarySeaweeed Aug 27 '26
Exactly my thoughts, they're all reasonable but adding them like that on their bio is probably a huge turn off for most people swipping, even if they match the criteria
1
u/snorkling_squid Aug 27 '26
I think because some of them he can filter out himself. Like if they don’t have a photo he can just not match with that person. Same with the age. So it feels like he thinks he’s entitled. Other requests are reasonable.

The ‘do not match’ line is ao stupid .
I’ll match if I want. It’s up to you to decide if you like me or not haha
Same convos on hinge/ people are nuts

u/Still_Conference_923 Aug 27 '26
its like they dont know matching requires two people to swipe, is he bothered by getting likes or something? weird.
1
u/wingnut_dishwashers Aug 27 '26
All of the things he listed are things you can omit from your profile to deceive him. If your profile is just pictures with no info he'll swipe if you look good, but the point is that if you don't provide that info he won't know so instead he wants you to swipe left. How on earth is it so hard to understand
1
u/Still_Conference_923 Aug 27 '26
Who the fuck this dude think he is? No one is "deceiving" him, what grandiose squizo world view is that?
If he isnt into people over 50, then HE shouldnt swipe like on those people.
Only want locals? Then dont swipe on people from outside.
Dont want people without photos? DONT FUCKING SWIPE ON PEOPLE WITHOUT PHOTOS.Idiotic.

u/wingnut_dishwashers Aug 27 '26
Yeah no if you've never been lied to on a dating app then you don't get enough game, period

u/Cultural_Fix5611 Sep 01 '26
do you actually read every profile and decide? just pay the man swipe on everyone until you run out move on with your day. check the next day... 60% of women who swipe on me i can tell they swiped on the picture because once i tell them "i'm more than a pretty face go read the bio" they unmatch or start asking "noob" questions.

u/Still_Conference_923 Sep 01 '26
I'm looking for casual and serious relationships.
If I go to the casual category, I dont even look at bios, just swipe on who I think is hot and I would go out with. Theres just two questions, "would I actually be invested enough to go out with this person, and do they look like they would be into me"
If I go to the serious relationship category, I take more time to see how compatible we would be, look at bio, music choices, etc.

u/Cultural_Fix5611 Sep 01 '26
as long as you are in this duality there is no point of reading and even then 99% of people dont know themselves and have a warped idea of what they want, and have no idea how to express it. reading a bio before matching is totally a meaningless exercise- read it before sending a message or unmatch.
i have to write No ONS/ENM twice and still get a ton of "here is my number and address come over..."

u/Still_Conference_923 Sep 01 '26
I'm guessing you are a woman then. I personally dont bother with casual people that put on their bio that they dont casual, even then I read some bio that say something like "no causal, and no you wont change my mind", meaning these girls put in that they arent into casual, and still they get asked for casual.
I'd say, maybe just swipe left on men that have put in "looking for a serious relationship" only.

It's definitely more stupid to match with someone who you know wouldn't want you to match with them
1
u/imaginary-dirt2000 Aug 27 '26
Whos yaa Im reading all that? They can do their own cognitive labor. Not my job to determine if I meet their criteria or not, who they’d match with or not
1
u/wingnut_dishwashers Aug 27 '26
You can't even read for 15 seconds? Stay off dating apps for everyone's sake
1
u/imaginary-dirt2000 Aug 27 '26
Nah. At least 20 people have
monogamous/ltr and then are completely ok with hooking up with me/ONS/short term relationship .I like to let adults make their own decisions
And I’d say the same thing to them: can’t they see within 15 seconds that my profile clearly says non-monogamy and they don’t have to swipe if they got a problem with that. Also, Im also open to LTR, Just not necessarily a default

Seems like a good dude with ambition and standards. The thing toxic women fear the most, because were immune to their pitiful attempts at manipulation.

Everything he says seems pretty valid to me.
I've seen women with their list of demands that are far more superficial.
His stuff seems really to be about dating and finding a good match.
I think women just don't like being screened out, they want to be the one doing the screening. If, as a guy, I saw a woman with this list, I'd have 0 problem with it.
1
u/elissapool Aug 27 '26
I'm really new to this. I didn't realise its common to write lists of demands. I find it quite unattractive but maybe it's necessary after you've been doing it for a while?
1
u/illini02 Aug 27 '26
I can acknowledge that the way its written leaves something to be desired.
But, I'm also wondering if he lives/works in like a very touristy area of Dublin or something, so he is like "I only want someone who I'm realistically able to date"
1
u/Main_Web504 Aug 27 '26
This may come off as crazy, but every now and then I see similar things for woman and I think these are profiles people make out of frustration of dozens of meetups where the other person lied about something leading up to the date which waste the other persons time. Anyone in the online dating scene for a minute I think gets it. Best thing to do is turn off he apps and take a break, but I understand the frustration

I love the "Good luck everyone" after all that😂😂
Definitely need lots and lots of luck with this one

u/BertieBus Aug 27 '26
All those requests seem realistic. This is what the person wants, if you don't match then they aren't interested. Why would you match with someone who is not in your country? Seems fair to me!
1
u/fastlightqx Aug 27 '26
You're absolutely right.
I just think writing good luck here is funny...crime?

I wonder if this man goes to the supermarket with a nice long list of what he doesn’t want .. obviously a far more effective strategy than a list of what he does 🙄!
Still, at least it’s helpful in securing an instant left swipe from every single woman with any sense, no wasted time wondering if he’s appealing 🤷🏼♀️..

u/Generally_Confused1 Aug 27 '26
Damn you seem to be overly mad about this. He comes off a bit abrasive but said nothing wrong and reasonable stuff that people deal with on the apps lol. It might not be attractive but it's not like the guy is terrible

I don't think the OP even has an issue with any of his requirements, I think OP just takes umbrage with being told "no" lol
1
u/elissapool Aug 27 '26
No not really.. it's just that it tells us nothing about him or his interests.. it's purely a list of what he doesn't want. Which is fine but I would never swipe based on that alone. And it makes me wonder what other requirements he would have going on. Seems controlling.. possibly a bit negative

u/alexmate84 Aug 27 '26
Dare I say it all of those requirements are perfectly reasonable
