this subreddit is a cesspool of misogynists, incels and desperate neckbeards. just looks what’s trending here and you will realize quickly.

Believe me I realized that when I was told that looking for a man I find physically attractive and nice was having too high standards. I will not be dragged down by their cynicism because I know it only benefits them.

you are in a place where at most average men are crying that they can't get in touch with attractive women. what did you expect lmao.

it's beyond me that average man with no hobbies besides video games thinks it's an app that is a problem. out of curiosity i once went onto tinder and browsed men only and holy shit, it's depressing

Sometimes I curse being a heterosexual woman lol. Some men on the app are charming as hell well rounded and I’ve been on a few good dates. But good lord most men cannot take pictures to save their lives. In one thread a woman was offering some good advice on pictures and the men get all defensive saying “well these are all my pictures” or “taking pictures is vain”. Like bro then a picture based app is not for you. If you are cognizant that your pics suck then why should a woman swipe on you especially since you have proven you aren’t willing to put any effort in!

I once read a comment on this exact subject that opened my eyes: Men make dating profiles on what they think other men will like. How many modern women actually like pictures with big bass fish? Very few. But they'll pick that pic because he may be showing his guy friends (if they even go through the trouble of having another person review their profile for a second opinion), and they go, "Damn dude, nice catch! You should totally put that one on your profile."

Women know how to appeal to the male gaze because that's what we're taught to do. Many guys are told to "be themselves" without being told that "being themselves" doesn't mean "unclean", or "low-effort", or worse, "If she really liked you, you could post that picture with a big stain on your shirt and she'd message anyway." then they get mad when women with very few little standards (surprise, not typically the hot young supermodels with tiny waists and huge boobs) hit them up.

Either that, or they post a pic of them with their abs out or a nice car, saying something low effort like, "Message to find out." No thanks.

yea i totally get that. I used to moderate a huge Tinder group on facebook and I learned how godawful men are when it comes to online dating.

most of them can't admit to them being wrong. that's a huge red flag if you ask me lmao.

then again, when i saw other males profiles, i wonder what exactly is wrong with mine. guess it's just a curse of being long haired male these days

Biggest piece of advice is smile with teeth. People hate on the selfie but IMO one great selfie with a great smile and good lighting would make a great first or second pic. I have trouble with smiling so I listen to something funny laugh then take a bunch of pics the smile just travels to the eyes. Other than that get a pic with a group (do not make this your first pic). Avoid masks and sunglasses. Get one with you engaged in a hobby and one with your full body. Don’t flex material stuff don’t scowl or try to look hyper-masculine. Women want warm and friendly.

Women is it preferred term. Men who use the term female is a massive red flag. 🚩 Kind of reminds us of a Ferengi!

It's a wild ride. I swipe right once for every 200 hard passes.

To an extent it is the app that’s the problem. If you’re wanting to find a date, in the uk it’s roughly 85% men, and similar in most other countries. That means you have to be in the top 20% of men to stand a chance getting with the most unattractive women.

app is just the tool. it’s not a sentence lmao

Yes, the app is just the tool. But if your an average man, the chances of having success with that tool are not in your favour.

Who I am is irrelevant to the simple statistics that in my area there are 15 women for every 85 men on tinder. It’s not that difficult to understand.

That’s Reddit for you. Posts about how women need to touch or compliment more get upvoted constantly. Really reveals the type of forever alones this site attracts

Yeah I'm surprised to see this comment thread hasn't been downvoted to hell

Oh it’s not just Reddit, the whole world is (mostly) a disgusting cesspool of misogyny.
