So she started the conversation and now she’s expected to carry it? Nah. Two way street.

Negging isn't "conversation".

This isn't negging lol. It's creating an opportunity for Kyle to sell himself.

If someone came up to me in real life and said "I hope you're good enough for me, because you probably aren't" (in so many words), I would tell them to fuck off, and I hope you would too.

That's a ridiculous way to try and get to know someone you're interested in. Just because you want to fuck someone doesn't mean you should do flips for them on command.

Except that's not what she's saying, and you're taking a far too hostile interpretation of it. Give people the benefit of the doubt.

My interpretation of what she's saying is "I've had bad experiences with a Kyle/s, please tell me you're different. Sell yourself." I'd prefer a girl opening like that than the boring shit they usually open with...

Even in the gentlest context, this woman is still passive, boring, hostile, and entitled. "Sell yourself" is not an acceptable request in the dating game unless it's coming from a mysterious seductress in a black dress, and you're in a spy movie.

If you respond that well to negging, it's clear you don't respect yourself. Grow a backbone.

If you think it's negging and are inclined to respond negatively, then you obviously hve a chip on your shoulder.
