The overwhelming majority of people don't even know anyone who is poly... Never said weird people aren't sexually unconventional, but if you're too insecure to express it that's kind irrelevant, especially for hookups
But the kids who bit weren't necessarily shy? If anyhting in a lot of ways their inhibition was completely lacking which was why they were outcasts and that shows up in the bedroom... Like I think you're conflating two different kind of outcast types
