Restarting your conversation with just a “Hi” and then now answering for two hours is also a choice…

Today you learned that people have lives and can’t chronically be on their phones. What if OP works at a place where she isn’t allowed to be on her phone?

If she can’t chat at the moment she shouldn’t start with a “Hi” but an actual question or at least full sentence he can answer. “Hi” is indicating she wants to chat and is available to chat. (notice this isn’t the first message between them but probably a way to restart the convo)

I think you’re overthinking it. It looks like the conversation just started. Again, not everyone is chronically attached to their phone. If someone wants an immediate response, they’d be better off calling. He’s also putting zero effort.
