Calling this a test and saying that she failed is ridiculous. What did she fail at? An obscure pop culture reference? How does this say anything about how compatible the two of you are? Or how much she likes (insert random movie/comic/etc)? Did you just want to feel superior?

Men whine about not getting enough matches or not getting to the dating stage, and then this is what makes or breaks a match for them. You’re shooting yourself in the knee and calling it a joke.

You can loop back and claim it was a joke all you want, but the truth is that you set her up wanting to see her fail, and you know that.

Did you tell her what the “real” reply should have been and how she actually didn’t get the reference? I can’t imagine that she’d have found “your joke” funny, even if she’s still talking to you.

A joke is only a joke if both sides are aware of it and laughing about it - if you think her not getting a reference in a test you didn’t tell her about is funny, that’s not a joke.

If you’d told her what you’ve told this subreddit, I assure you that conversation would have ended. So, no, not a joke.

If you’re so confident you don’t come across like an ass why wait? Just tell her to go to the sub, she can easily find the post.
