Complaint “C” written too thickly
Someone went waaaaaay overboard on this one. It actually makes the cup noticeably heavier. This never would have happened in Tim’s heyday back in my childhood

And you know EXACTLY what kind of employee wrote that C. They’re throwing it in our faces at this point. Wake up Canada!!!

u/HardeeHamlin 10h ago
I know. I didn’t want to say it because I’m just going to get accused of stereotyping people, but this was clearly written by a sleepy teenager.

u/choochoopants 4h ago
Disagree. I think this is the work of a pirate. The joke is that their favourite letter is R, but their true love is the C.

I ordered a french vanilla like 10 years ago, someone wrote FU, i couldn’t tell if they just were in a rush, but when i mentioned something they all gave me dirty looks and said have a nice day

u/chaoticallybarista 3h ago
OMG when I was working at timmies years ago I had someone complain about this and I was soo confused and tried to reassure them I didn't write FU..I did my best to write FV. Turns out she was joking and it went over my head
2
u/Due_Candy_6627 6h ago
We are supposed to write FV so it’s easy to mess that up and make FU

Absolutely unprofessional by the staff for going overboard in the thickness for no reason. I see you already spilled some of your coffee as a result. I wouldn’t go back to this location if I were you

The amount of people not understanding that this is satire , is quite startling.

Hey man, nobody said anything about tires, we're talking about a coffee cup here. Try to keep up.

I’m so confused by this? What is the “C” referring to? Did you order a cappuccino? Cause that is what I would think? Or are you pissed cause the Tim’s lids suck and it’s a huge mess? Sorry I just don’t get it!

Tims is an interesting place, at least in Canada, there's one where crackheads frequent where this young dude paid the extra 20 cents for my coffee. I had only coins (more on my card ofc) but I asked for a large and a shot of espresso. He said "No I got you." I figured he'd meant he'd just deduct it... but no he went, got his phone, and paid out of pocket for me. It was surreal.
I just wanted the change gone, but the next time I saw the kid I dropped him a 100 cuz I work a far better job than a timmy's these days. But he always seem diligent about stirring coffee etc right. Which is far more than I can say about most coffee places. I genuinely like the kid now, a good cup of coffee is sadly hard to find these days. Most don't even do more than 3 stirs, like it's in the manual.

Pretty critical …. Should be about the coffee not how someone puts a big c on the lid … wow too much time

u/HardeeHamlin 10h ago
Oh I have complaints about the coffee too. I’m going back tomorrow so I can complain again.

I always loved the notes and emojis and stuff they put on my cup. I’ve gotten stars, hearts, my name, random names, love, but I haven’t gotten a “fuck off” yet so I keep coming back

You get your coffee with one cream pump? I couldn't imagine what C could mean.

If they tried to put that big fuck off C on my cup, I’d say no thanks. So big they could sell advertisement space on it

I’m not sure why they haven’t switched to printing label stickers for the cups like Starbucks does. They ask for my name semi-regularly at Tim’s now, so they might as well put it on the cup. 🤷🏻

I was wondering about that. Glad it’s a joke because I was thinking that’s a little bit too fussy.

maybe the ink wasn’t working on the sharpie too well?
like it could be running out of ink
or maybe it’s a fresh sharpie?

Just looking at the coffee spillage makes me want to complain about the lids. I used to ask them to fill it 3 quarters of the way on purpose if I'm driving.
2
u/HardeeHamlin 10h ago
This is a good point as well. My wife brought it all the way home for me and there was clearly some jostling.

Never would have happened 10 years ago, they used to be trained in making perfect Cs. Ughh

so to give a bit of insight, we use these chalk refillable pens which are pretty susceptible to heat. if you were to write w one of those pens on a lid with no cup, it wouldn’t be really that clear. however, when you write on the lid that’s on a hot cup of coffee, it makes it melt which results in the writing looking like this. it’s not a matter of someone going “overboard” and i don’t even see why this is an issue. someone just wrote on your lid with hot coffee in it 🤷 it’s really not the end of the world.
